Final Outcomes - Michael Jackson

I really love how these Michael Jackson design came out! They all use a very similar colour palette which I really wanted to have I my final designs.

In my Elton John designs I am really glad with how they came out! All the pink designs flow very well with each other.

I love how my madonna outcomes look! I love the baby blue colour I ended up using and is quite different from the other colours I chose, all the designs complement each other well!

Creating a Google site

Creating my google site wasn't very hard, all I needed to do was add-on my images of my final outcome and have them in a way that looks good! I also needed to add a bit about my outcomes and project at the top!, As well as designing my portfolio I did that the exact same way, by dragging over the images and placing them then rearguing them as well as using an image carousel fro seem of them.

Poster Mockups

I really love how my posters look when put on mockups! they all have such a different colour theme.

Mockup Process

First you open up your mockup file in photoshop after downloading it, when you open it it should have there own designs on it but set up ready for you to edit it.

Here you can see this is the background colour where you can change it to what colour you'd like it.

Where it says “your design...” you double click that image and it should then open you another file in photoshop.

You can then go into this and copy and paste or place your design over the top to fit the page given. You then click file, save in the Corner, return to the original mockup and it should appear like it was always your design.

You then do the exact same thing to your smaller design that goes on the disk record. 

You should then be able to return to your mockup file and it have your design on with the background colour of your choice!

Madonna Poster Development

This is the image I used of Madonna in the 80s. 

I then went into photoshop and put a threshold onto it. I really loved how the threshold looked!

I then went on to add colour, at first I used a blue as I wanted madonna to have a blue colour pattern to her designs although I then changed this a light purple and then back to a blue although light blue this time! as I didn't want purple as that clashed with my Prince purple designs.  I do really love how the light blue looks with the threshold though!

I then added the type over the poster and when I out the type on I really loved how it looked straight away as it goes right across her face and blends in using an overlay effect!

I used photos from princes purple rain performances and added them into photoshop.

Michael Jackson Poster Development

Using Photoshop I started to design Michael Jacksons poster, I started off with this photo of him from his thriller music video.

I then cropped some of the photo out and placed it into a threshold as you can see below. I really liked how this looked.

I then added a red colour to the background of the image as the colour theme I was using for this is red. I did this by using the brush tool and just painting over the areas I wanted this colour.

I then started to add different colours and thought it might look good if I add a different colour to his eyes, I liked how this looked although thought that maybe it needed more colour in it.

I then decided that maybe I should take the background if the red away and just have his jacket as red although I didn't love this I thought I would see how it looked when type was added to see if it improved the design.

I then added this font, but didn't like this at all it made it too packed on the page and the colours don't look correct together with a white background.

I then added a orange background and changed the colour of his eyes to red again I tried this with a different attempt at adding font.

When I added this font I really liked how it looked, although still wasn't happy with the orange colours in the background and I decided I preferred his eyes before.

Here you can see I went back to my original all red and glowing eyes.

This is my final poster design using the font I had in the second poster I did that I didn't like. I like how the final outcome looks and how it doesn't use loads of different colours and stays within my colour palette.

These album covers are very similar to my other one although I slightly changed it and added the black boarder around the side although in the end I decided I preferred them without after putting them on a mockup.

Madonna

Madonna’s actual name is Madonna Louise Ciccone, she was born 16th August 1958 in Michigan. The Recording Industry Association of America has named Madonna the best-selling female rock artist of the 20th century. She also has the made the Guinness World Records list as the world's most successful female recording artist of all time, she has sold over 200 million records worldwide! 

Madonna's famous album Like A Virgin is among the 200 Albums of All Time, according to the Rock + Roll Hall of Fame.Its said that her song Like a Virgin had sold around 1.5 million copies in Europe by September 1985.  Like A Virgin remains Madonna’s highest selling studio album of her career to date in the USA.

Elton John

Elton John’s real name is actually Reginald Kenneth Dwight! Elton John legally changed his name in 1972 after not wanting to be associated with the nickname Reggie any longer. His name came from two members of his 1960s soul group band called Bluesology. He was born 25th March 1947. 

Elton is well known for his outlandish eyeglasses, however, he did not even need them for corrective vision when he first began wearing them. The glasses were just a prop becoming a part of his iconic look on stage.

Elton John’s album Too Low for Zero was released in 1983 and was the twenty-second official album release from him. The album was written and recorded in approximately two weeks, with overdubs completed in a week. In the USA, Too Low for Zero was certified gold in January 1984 and platinum in October 1995 by the RIAA.

Raphael Vincenzi (aka mydeadpony) - Weird Heads Workshop

Raphael Vicenzi a.k.a. Mydeadpony is a self-taught artist from Brussels, Belgium. He is represented by the illustrator agency Colagene, so you can find most of his works there along with some of the most talented artists. Raphael's influence in his artwork does comes from fashion, street art and graffiti.

I love his work, it is all put together so well and all the colours blend well even though they are all from different places, he uses minimal colour in the designs although more in his work at the bottom where he uses brighter colours.

In this design above he even added type into his work which I think looks really good and all the images blend well and more features are shown.

Alvaro Tapia Hidalgo - Weird Heads Research

He is a graphic designer and illustrator who lives in Valparaíso, Chile. Alvaro has worked as Art Director in design projects as well as a Film Editor since 2000. He is now working as a full-time illustrator, he's been doing this since 2011.

His work went well with the type of work I produced for the Weird Heads Workshop, as you can see in his work its all quite similar and he does a lots of the line drawing going out the original or his own pictures, the creates an image out of nothing and he then also adds colour as you can see this gives it the face looking image, without the colour and adding of features they would probably look like a bunch of lines together.

The not above looks like it was very complicated to design because there's so much going on with multiple colours in the same place around her face.

Madonna - Coco Davez Work

This is the image I chose of madonna to design.

I started with her face found madonna hard to design as this image is in black and white so I did have to use another image of herself to get the skin tones correct.

I started doing the neck and also had to change the colour so it would blend better and not look like she doesn't have a face.

When I added her hair it looked not good and I didn't like it at all! I don't like how this looked. 

I then added a line where her face cuts off from her neck and also added some lips to her so she looked more like madonna I thought about added her eyes on as well although that ruins the faceless look.

Another thing I also did was  name her face smaller as I think it looked way too big for her on here and I preferred this way more!

Here you can see I then went onto doing my album cover for her, I did the same design as the others with 1 same font for her name.

I liked this font I chose because it matches an 80s theme and she was very very famous then and had this sort of vibe going on within her outfits and charater from back then.
