Episode 39: CHOBA B CCCP: When Paul Met Putin
As the Russia/Ukraine conflict continues to rage, we took a look back at the time Paul McCartney brought the Beatles' music to Russia on a groundbreaking gesture of musical goodwill—his 2003 concert in Red Square and accompanying documentary. We indulge in early aughts nostalgia, look back on the astounding meeting between Paul, Heather, and Putin(!!!), and reveal Paul's most pressing question about Russian culture.
Plus, we find our favorite Beatles song with the epic Beatles Song Battles site, speculate about our future Paul concerts, and look ahead to a most interesting collaboration between a weed company and the George Harrison estate (+gnomes).

Last month marked 20 years since 9/11, and while observing the day itself is pretty grim, we couldn’t let the anniversary pass without talking about how Paul channeled that horrible event into some pretty massive (and divisive) musical moments.

Episode 30: Why the Beatles Loved… the Monkees? With Special Guest Andrew Sandoval
The creators behind the Monkees’ hit television series (and the band itself) hoped to establish an American Beatles - although the band’s critics would often refer to them as the “Pre-Fab Four.” While much of the music community despised the Monkees, the Beatles… actually loved them. Join us as we explore why with Grammy-nominated producer, historian, and author Andrew Sandoval, whose new book chronicles the Monkees’ entire career from the birth of Peter Tork in 1942 to the very last day of 1970.
