The military regime sued Myanmar President U Win Myint and State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi under the Export and Import Law and the Natural Disaster Management Law respectively on Wednesday, two days after their detention following a coup.
The duo were remanded in custody (from Feb. 1-15) by the Dekkhina District Court in Naypyitaw for further investigation—a move to legalize the detentions of the two leaders, who have been in custody since Monday morning.
According to the remand request letter submitted by police, the president was sued under Article 25 of the Natural Disaster Management Law for breaching campaign guidelines and COVID-19 restrictions set by the country’s health ministry.
According to the police statement, the 70-year-old president is accused of violating the restrictions by “greeting a National League for Democracy campaign rally with his wife and daughter at the gate of his presidential residence in September.”The statement claimed that the rally was attended by around 760 people. Even though the ministry set a maximum attendance of 50 people for political campaign events amid COVID-19, other political parties staged mass rallies as well.
If found guilty, the president would face a maximum three-year prison sentence.
Meanwhile, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, who has been in custody since 7.00 a.m. on Monday, is accused of “illegal importing and using of radio transmitting and receiving equipment” at her residence in Naypyitaw. The devices are widely available on the market in Myanmar.
The police said nine ICOMs used by Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s security team were found during a search by a team from the Commander in Chief’s Office (Army) on Monday morning.
She is accused of breaching the Export and Import Law, which bans the importing of restricted items without permission.
If found guilty, the 75-year-old would face three years’ imprisonment.
It is not clear from the remand order whether the President and State Counselor are being held in jails or are under house arrest.
Following the lawsuits on Wednesday, Malaysian MP Charles Santiago, chair of ASEAN Parliamentarians for Human Rights (APHR), described the charges as “ludicrous”. He called the action “an absurd move by the junta to try to legitimize their illegal power grab from Myanmar’s democratically-elected government”, referring to the NLD’s landslide victory in November’s election.
“We have been here before. ASEAN and the international community all know where this is likely to head: back to a ruthless military dictatorship. They must respond urgently and comprehensively to secure the release of Aung San Suu Kyi and all other political prisoners and help restore democracy,” he said.

4th Feb 2020
As of today morning, Facebook and Instagram is cut off by the military in Myanmar.
You may ask why? Because people in Myanmar use Facebook as information and communication hub during military coup. It is used by social influencers and activists to organize movements and campaigns.
Yesterday, people banged pots and pans at exactly 8:00 P.M. MMT countrywide. People began banging the pots and pans since 2nd Feb at 8:00 P.M. The banging of pots and pans used to be one of traditional rituals to cast/drive away the evil spirit. The banging will be carried on everyday until further notice.
Doctors and healthcare workers resign from their post yesterday and many civil servants also resign to resist this military coup.
The UN security council is not issuing any statements as Russia and China blocked the condemnation of Myanmar coup on Tuesday emergency meeting.
People all over Myanmar are carrying out Civil Disobedience Movements throughout the country. I sincerely wish the peaceful way will eventually win-over this cruel event. We must not lose hope afterall.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m in love with drinking plain water. I don’t have a problem with it, but some people, especially people who are new to the fitness community, like a little more flavor in their drinks. So, I put together a couple ways to naturally flavor your water. Note:
Replace regular water with this detox water to stay hydrated throughout the day. (it’ll be easier, too.!)
Don’t forget to change the fruits 2-3 times after refilling so the fruits don’t lose their benefits and the water won’t begin to taste nasty.
I recommend buying a water bottle specifically for detox water, but if you don’t have one it’s perfectly okay. I got mine here.
Slice everything as thin as possible so your water doesn’t taste overpowered with to much flavor.
Let the water sit in the fridge around 2 hours - overnight so the fruits can infuse in the water.
—————————————————————————————————————————————
1. Fat Burning Detox Water (The grapefruit leaves a bitter-like taste in your mouth, and you can taste it really good in the water.)
1 Strawberry (stimulates the burning of stored fat.)
1/2 small cucumber (prevent water retention and also have many anti-inflammatory properties.)
1/4 grapefruit, sliced into triangles. (fat-burning enzyme that can help to absorb and reduce the starch and sugar in the body.)
ice water (obvi????)
2. Belly Slimming Detox Water <—- My favorite one.
4-5 slices of cucumber (prevent water retention and also have many anti-inflammatory properties)
1/2 small lemon (helps clear out your digestive system)
1/4 orange (stimulates the immune system and protects against a fungi/pests while helping to reduce cholesterol levels.)
3-4 mint leaves(helps the body digest more easily and it also soothes any stomach cramps you may have.)
ice water duh
3. Metabolism Boosting Detox Water (I haven’t tried this yet, I don’t really like raspberries.)
2-3 slices of orange (Vitamin C will strengthen your immune system.)
3-4 raspberries (phytonutrients increases your metabolism.)
green tea or water. (A natural diuretic that boosts levels of fat oxidation.)

This really works, and I can attest to it because I drank it  on one of my cheat days and still ended up losing 2 lbs.  Not only does it taste good it speeds up your metabolism and burns fat in the process.  Enjoy this recipe, I sure did.  Put as many lemons as you like, I used 3 lemons, 1 whole cucumber, a piece of ginger and a handful of mint leaves in a pitcher of water as the picture illustrates. I let it sit overnight and drank it the next morning and during dinnertime.  It is delicious!

Meyer Lemon French Toast
Yum, this was our delectable breakfast today. Our Meyer lemon tree is covered with ripe lemons right now. Meyer lemons are sooo delicious. They’re sweet and very fragrant, with hints of tangerine and grapefruit. I bought the Dwarf Meyer Lemon tree that’s growing in our yard when we first moved to Southern California from the frosty freezy mid west. I chose a dwarf variety because we were living in an apartment at the time, and gardening on a balcony. I love that this tree moved with us to all the different places we’ve lived since we been here. This tree is about 3 feet tall and 3 feet wide, but produces lots of fruit. It grew in a wine barrel for the first 3 years we had it, now it’s planted in the ground.
I made the lemon sauce for this French toast as an experiment in case I’m ever on Chopped.
Ted: “What will you make with bread, bacon, eggs and Meyer lemons?”
Me: IhavenomotherfuckingideaMeyerlemonfrenchtoastwithasideofbacon?
Ted: “You have 20 minutes.”
This actually did take only about 20 minutes to make. So if you’re ever on chopped, feel free to use this recipe.
Cook bacon on med high heat until crispy. Mmmm bacon.
Scramble 3 eggs in a shallow bowl, add 1/4 cup milk or cream, pinch of kosher salt and 1 tsp vanilla extract. Heat a pan with a little butter. Dip the bread in the egg wash, let it soak a minute, and cook in butter on both sides until cooked through.
In a separate sauce pan, melt 1 tblsp butter, add the juice of 1 Meyer lemon and 2 tablespoons organic sugar. Cook until the sugar melts. Zest a second Meyer lemon, squeeze the juice into a cup and whisk in 1/2 tsp corn starch. Add the corn starch slurry to the melted butter mixture and whisk over low heat until it thickens. Taste. If it’s too tart add a little more sugar to taste. Serve the lemony syrup on your French toast, garnish with Meyer lemon zest and organic powdered sugar and a side of crispy bacon. Yum!

Apple Honey Cake
This is delicious, cheap and easy. The honey soaks into the cake and makes it taste amazing. We had a big bag of apples on the counter that were ripening. I didn’t want them to go bad so I peeled them, squeezed lemon juice on so they wouldn’t brown, and then made them into this low sugar cake. It was sooo delicious! It’s based on a recipe for a Dutch Baby.  This is a good sweet treat for times when you have a sweet tooth but don’t want to eat a ton of sugar. The honey gives it a really sweet taste, and the amount of sugar in the cake itself is small. Honey is good for you, especially locally produced honey. They say it helps alleviate seasonal allergies, is antibacterial, and improves immune function. I’m not a doctor so Please do not quote me on any of that.
In a blender, 4 eggs, 3/4 cup milk, 3/4 cup sifted all purpose flour, 1 tsp baking powder, dash of salt, a sprinkle of cinnamon, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 2 tblsp sugar, 2 tblsp melted butter. Blend for 30 seconds. Let the batter rest.
Meanwhile, peel & slice 3 or 4 apples, sprinkle with the juice of 1/2 lemon. Sauté in 2 tblsp butter for a few minutes. Add a sprinkle of cinnamon, some fresh grated nutmeg and a little salt to the cooking apples. Spread into a single layer in an oven safe dish, sprinkle with 1 tblsp brown sugar.
Pour the Dutch Baby batter over the apples and bake for 15-20 minutes at 400. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and a generous drizzle of local honey.
Yum! I love this!
