Some of my favourite comic panels from what I’ve read recently of Morty being adorable, and smart (emotionally AND factually) and also just taking charge from Rick bc it always makes me happy to see him complain as he follows Morty to keep him safe anyways.

insanely funny to me that the "kill... pencilvester" line from total rickall was the only time we've heard rick's voice thick with emotion like that

I'm late to the party I know, but I don't think enough people are talking about the fact that our Rick *didn'f* leave Beth. His Beth was killed.

A couple of Ricks did leave their Beths and those are the Beths we see in the show. That means that when Rick has been searching for new realities to hop into, he always chooses ones where the Ricks left their Beths when they were kids. Because those are the only Beths who are still alive. The only Beths alive were abandoned when their Ricks found portal guns.

And Rick NEVER corrects Beth. "I never left you," "I didn't leave!" Etc when she denigrates him or rants about being left by her father. Because he knows those feelings are valid. They are coming from a real place, because her father really did leave her, and to her her father is him. It's fuckin mind blowing!

I'm sorry but the fact that we went 5 seasons thinking our Rick left his wife and child and that was the basis as to why many hated him/ view him as a bad father is important!

In season 1, Rick Sanchez was too choked by his ego and toxic masculinity to be anything but a cranky alcoholic in a lab coat. In season 5, he's an anime witch running around with high-heeled boots and two crows for sidekicks.
