I’ve seen this comment many times. Let’s see how many people Loki actually killed in Avengers.

Natasha said this to Thor after Loki’s capture. Therefore the number of people that died as the result of Loki’s direct and indirect actions up to that point were 80, from the time he appeared in SHIELD, until Stuttgart that he was captured. An argument can be made that SHIELD agents who died as the result of the portal collapsing in itself, weren’t Loki’s fault. He didn’t even know that until Selvig told him. It happened because SHIELD(Hydra) thought it would be a good idea to tinker with the Tessearct to build weapons of mass destruction, which resulted in awakening it and notifying Thanos and The Other to its location. But, ok let’s say that Loki killed 80 people.

According to CW, the civilian casualties of the actual attack to New York were 74 people.

80(Loki’s first appearance until his capture) + 1(Coulson. During Loki’s escape from Helicarrier. Yeah, I didn’t forget that.) + 74(Casualties of the actual attack) = 155

So, Loki’s actual kill count in New York is 155. Not thousands or millions. This doesn’t mean it’s any better. He still killed people. People still died and lost their homes and he is not blameless. I just wanted to clear that the number, according to canon, is not as much as people claimes it to be.
