Something I've noticed in the anime, and now once again in the manga: Luffy and Zoro referring to Blackbeard as more than one.

And then of course there's Blackbeard's flag which is shown to depict three connected, or perhaps "conjoined" skulls.

So, so curious already about Teach's backstory just to see where all the little puzzle pieces fit in.

Also so ridiculously curious what exactly Luffy and Zoro sensed here. Maybe conflicting personalities? His differing actions? His words? Or something else entirely?

It has to be something obvious that both Luffy and Zoro immediately picked up on yet subtle enough that Nami who was present for all their interactions has no clue about.

I really hope Oda explains in a flashback when he finally reveals the truth.
