You've triggered an unskippable cutscene,

Luvdisc and Rellor – the most basic, on-the-nose pokemon for the two of them. They don't reflect the kings' personality or theme or anything. Funny roller bug and the shitty love fish. I have them trade these two between them because rarely do you see pokemon trading be used to denote a relationship

Cofagrigus and Solrock – for Greed and Sisyphus being the people's sun. Also Cofagrigus is one of those pokemon that tricks and kills people who fuck with them, which is a very Sisyphus thing to do

Blissey and Silvally – friendship evolutions for the lover king. Blissey's kind nature is self-explanatory, but Silvally I chose because it is the Arceus-like pokemon, and Minos is Hell's judgement-delivering god-like figure

Midnight Lycanroc and Hisuian Zoroark – red and white dogs who fucking hates you <33 I chose them because it says a lot that these difficult and hostile pokemon are the kings' seeing eye dogs. The Zoroark also partially represents Minos' bitter hatred as a prime soul

Incineroar and Annihilape – for their prime soul battles. Sisyphus enjoyed the fight, enjoyed being the enemy, fighting for the sake of a good battle, while Minos fought with grim anger, seeking only to end his opponent. There's also something here about wrestling vs boxing that I could feel but can't put into words

Basculegion – look at its dex entry and tell me this isn't Sisyphus and his insurrectionists

Cobalion – Minos is Hell's specialest husk so he gets the legendary pokemon representing justice

Au where Minos' prime soul returns to his original, decimated body after it dissipated

Him huddling over the husks, using his body as shelter... He couldn't even soothe them, too overcome with horror at himself. He just stared at them and cried.

They gathered before him, and he dared not to reach for them.

Eventually, one husk step forward and held their arms out to him. Carefully, so very carefully, he lowered a hand to them and they hugged his finger, just like they did the day he died.

His hands were horribly disfigured and covered in untold amounts of blood, yet the motions were so familiar when he traced their face with a fingertip.

Days blend one into another as they find shelter in the ruined city. It hurt him to leave them, but he roamed the layer, seeking survivors. Every shadow that fled from him is another knife in his heart, but he persevered. He had to.

It never got quite crowded at their little refuge, but there's enough husks that the sound of people stopped getting drowned out by the howling winds. They cleaned out rooms and held each other and grieved for countless bodies. Minos knelt before the seemingly eternal pyre and ran through prayer after prayer until his mangled vocal chords gave out.

Still, he did not feel any closer to forgiveness.

Minos can barely talk with his death wounds, but he hums all the time. Lullabies, elegies, old love songs from the city's heydays. The husks join in with whatever sound they can make. Just as often, they screech melodies and make him sing along, rowdy bar songs and ballads full of dirty jokes, trying to make him laugh.

He's turned rather touch aversed, because sometimes when he's holding his people, his muscle memory reminded him of how it feels to crush them in his hands. He tolerated his people's affections because he had to be there for them.

some questions about that: which parent determines the offspring pokemon? (in the rattata examples, the offspring is a rattata and not eg. a bidoof.) can hybrid pokemon have offspring? (maybe some hybrid pokemon from closely related species/types/egg groups can, but others that are less compatible can't?) are hybrid pokemon considered "competition legal"?

Which parent determines the offspring pokemon?

I'm going by how the game mechanics work, so it'll always be the mother. It makes sense too, imagine a skitty mom carrying a wailord egg

Can hybrid pokemon have offsprings?

Yeah, on account of not making this as complicated as real life hybridization, I'm treating the hybrids as their mothers' species. So two half-and-half hybrids will make a half-and-half offspring, not ¼ everything. Otherwise I play by game mechanics, pokemon can only breed within their egg group

Are hybrid pokemon competition legal?

Yeah, league rules are as inclusive as possible to make sure any teenager can have a chance, and purebred pokemon are too expensive and gatekeep-y
