I feel like we're almost in an era of like, reverse queerbaiting. Used to be that you'd be tricked into watching a show because the story implied there'd be gay rep, but now they're using gay rep to trick you into thinking there'll be a story.

“average person eats 3 spiders a year” factoid actualy just statistical error. average person eats 0 spiders per year. Spiders Georg, who lives in cave & eats over 10,000 each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted

in the first movie ethan hunt lost his team for nothing more than a futile mole hunt and ever since then he's made it his mission to put his team and his friends before everything else, especially himself. he's the type of character who will sacrifice the world to save one person.

"I would love to take all the credit for [the development of Benji Dunn's character], but that's really... every character that you see in this movie is just really an extension of the actor playing them. And it's just, [Simon] give[s] so much, [he] bring[s] so much. I wasn't kidding [when I said that Simon was the king of] the last minute monologue, and it's amazing... There were days when I was like, 'Uh, I have to explain so much of this stuff so quickly... Simon will do it. Simon will take it'. But what's really important about these movies, because it's all exposition, it's all explaining what the next thing is going to be... The way [Simon] manage[s] to make it emotional, and the way [he] manage[s] to always imbue everything with emotion. And [he's] very underrated as an extraordinary dramatic actor. And one of the things I love particularly about this movie is the dramatic sequences that [Simon] ha[s]. It really is something to watch, Simon in this movie. It's very moving to watch it."
- Christopher McQuarrie about Simon Pegg's performance as Benji Dunn (originally the speech was directed at Simon, the changed in square brackets are made for clarity)
