Hey, so I just saw your "Normalize making IDF soldiers social pariahs" post (the replied on it were turned off so I couldn't say this there). I am by no means disagreeing with and I am definitely not saying that this applies to every IDF soldier or even the Canadian cyclist mentioned, but I really do want to point out that conscription is a Thing in Israel and nobody has a choice whether or not they serve - and also that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of current IDF soldiers who are willingly serving who hate the war in Palestine as much as we do
TL;DR - Deciding to treat an entire group of people as social pariahs is what got us into this mess in the first place - the actions of one doesn't speak for the group
you can dodge a draft, muhammad ali did it and went to jail. Tal in israel did it and he went to prison for 30 days. i dont really have any sympathy for idf soldiers. i dont super care that theyre conscripted, if they actually really did disagree enough they would leave the army. Here's a testimony from a former IDF soldier who left the IDF after they realized that they were participating in the murder of children and families. To emphasize, I think IDF soldiers who participated in the IDF and are taking active steps to counter their past should not be treated like social pariahs.
joining the army is not treated with the scorn it should be. like at all. so if we show people that you cant live in peace if you participated in the harassment and murder of palestinians, then less people will be willing to put themselves in "danger" and not join the army. because even if they weren't committing the most obvious form of genocide now, they still harrass and accost palestinians as their least lethal form of intimidation that they regularly participate in, even outside of gaza.
What got us into this mess is the colonization of palestine and racism. You can choose to be a soldier or not.

in light of israel's looming invasion on rafah, south africa implored the icj to call for the protection of palestinians with new preliminary orders. the icj denied this request, insisting that its january orders would be sufficient enough in ensuring the safety of people residing in rafah.
we have all seen how israel responded to the icj verdict earlier this month. they have all but intensified their attacks on palestinians, their favorite of whom seem to be children. this will end in a bloodbath. palestinians, already malnourished and living in literal tents, will be bombarded, they will be shot, they will be slaughtered. and when i say palestinians, a lot of them are actual toddlers. the videos coming out of this are proof enough.
at this point, it has been made amply clear that palestinians will never experience safety in their own homeland. a lot of the families in gaza are trying to raise funds to get out of it, because there's nowhere left to go.
there is nowhere left to go. if these people don't get the funds necessary to escape, they will die.
it's vital that you go to operation olive branch's spreadsheet, choose a family that resonates with you, and donate as much as you can to their gofundme. every last dollar counts. one dollar could be the difference between life and death for a family. please don't fall victim to the bystander effect. your contribution counts, however little it may be. and whether you're able to donate or not, spread this to as many people as you can. each second we stay silent is a second an entire family is brutally massacred.

looking at (vetted) gofundmes for people trying to escape palestine and i don't know how many of you actually click on the gofundme links you reblog but i would like to point out, for what it's worth, just how amazing it is that so many have raised so much money. it may overall feel like a drop in the ocean but the fact that several gofundmes have raised tens of thousands of dollars is amazing. it is so expensive to leave gaza right now, and people still need money after they escape. but regardless of what propaganda the US, UK, canada, and other western nations are trying to pump out, people across the world are doing what they can to help these people survive. many of them are still very far from their goals (like this one and this one and this one) and some of them are very close to high goals (like this one), and some of them have reached almost double their original goal.
and that's not even addressing direct aid or organizations that take continuous donations for distribution of food, menstrual products, etc. the PCRF has raised $16,000,000 of their target goal of $20,000,000 to fund current aid and long-term relief efforts in gaza. ANERA's febuary 13th update discusses the material ways they helped palestinians today:

(ANERA donate link)
my point is, it often feels like the world is turning a blind eye to palestine. but i would like to point out that there is an important difference between "the world" and "western political leaders and media narratives". a breathtaking amount of real people, the people who make up the world, are trying to help. in the face of israel attempting to commit genocide, the world is saying No. These people deserve to live. and literally sending millions of dollars internationally, through the internet connection that israel has desperately been trying to destroy.
it may not feel like it matters in the grand scheme of things. but to the people who get fresh clothes, or a hot meal, or blankets, or the kids who get new toys, or to the people who are able to bring their families to safety, it matters to them. go make someone's day better. i've linked so many options with ways to do that.

if you are unable to donate financially to help palestine, you can donate your time by protesting, boycotting, and putting up posters!
if all you have is your device and internet access, you can put your clicks to good use on arab.org. they use the advertising revenue generated by your clicks to help good causes.
and i would urge those able to spare a few dollars to donate to one or more of the following organizations:
eSims for Gaza
Direct aid for Gaza
Care for Gaza
Women for Women International
Institute for Middle East Understanding
Medical Aid for Palestinians
Palestine Children Relief Fund
Muslim Aid USA
Direct Aid for Gaza
Palestinian American Medical Association
Urgent support for medical professionals in Gaza
Emergency Relief for Gaza
Anera
Taawon

since were on that topic, ive been saving up to preorder this olive oil made by Palestinian farmers
I had it recently on some vegetables that my in laws had, it was probably the most rich and most naturally seasoned flavor I've ever tasted like i don't think i'll ever find an olive oil that could match this. I think its extremely important olive oil made from palestinian culture is preserved and that we should support those who have the means to still create and sell it. here was the brand I tasted: https://oliveodyssey.com/
Here is another brand I plan to buy other products from: https://www.alardproducts.com/collections/olive-oil
of course please expect delays in shipping and possibly not recieving an order for a very long time but it's important the farmers know they have business during and even after this.

I am so sorry to bother you with this stupid question, but Bisan has asked for a complete stop in economic activity. Can I still donate to help Palestinians or is it better to avoid any transactions for the week ? Thank you so much for what you're doing
hello anon. don't apologise, you're a breath of fresh air after the recent visitors in my inbox. I think a slightly more accurate description of Bisan’s ask is to stop or minimise all economic activity not in direct support of Palestine. Now more than ever, I would encourage people to donate to escape funds for Palestinians, to direct aid organisations like CareforGaza and the PCRF, and to buy e-sims as they’re running low.
Below I’ve compiled a list of resources below but this is definitely just a small sample size of what you can do to help during this strike. This post here is an extremely comprehensive resource that I’d recommend you have a look at.
credible organisations that are doing work on the ground in Palestine:
Care for Gaza:non-profit charity that distributes money, food and other resources directly to families in Gaza. They maintain a regular presence on Twitter and Instagram. You can donate to them via Paypal here.
PCRF / Palestine Children's Relief Fund: non-profit organisation that distributes essential food and resources to families in Gaza. Most recently, they delivered 30 tons of vital medicine, and 82,000 pounds of flour.
Medical Aid For Palestinians: deploys medical teams to treat Palestinians suffering under Israel's malicious bombardments.
Donate e-sims to Palestine: massive post with tutorials and relevant links, with discount codes included in the post and in the replies.
help people leave palestine (donate what you can)
Help a Family Evacuate Gaza (GoGetFunding)
Save Sanaa and her Family (Gofundme)
Save Amjad Saher and his family (Gofundme)
Help a family of 13 escape Gaza (Gofundme)
Help a Palestinian children's book illustrator save her family of 12 (Gofundme)

I know you have all probably seen the esims for gaza posts circulating. Some of you have probably looked at them and thought maybe you should help out, but have weighed up the daunting process of signing up for something you're unfamiliar with vs. the gut-wrenching scale of the things people are going through on the ground right now, and you've put it off or questioned whether it will make enough of a difference vs. some other future kind of activism you could put that $6+ towards. I'm not calling you out or scolding you, it is natural to feel conflicted and ambivalent about the multiple calls for aid that you are seeing on social media.
but consider this: what would you do if you suddenly had to leave your home? how would you cope? how would you begin to plan where to go next, or figure out what to do to take care of yourself? most likely you would reach reflexively for your phone.
telecoms access is not a petty luxury in 2024. a loaded esim means the ability to call family members and find out where they are and whether they're safe, and whether they need anything you can provide for them. it means access to maps and regular updates on the situation unfolding around you. it means you can look up whether it's safe to drink rain water, or how to tie a type of knot you've never had to think about before, or how to treat an injury without medical supplies. it means the ability to tell people outside the situation what you are seeing, what you are feeling, what you are thinking. it is an absolutely crucial resource. and it starts at $6 for 7 days.
many many people have observed that internet access is changing the way the world understands genocide. internet access is life or death, and it is shaping modern history in front of you. and it starts at $6 for 7 days.
please, please visit gazaesims.com and spend 5 minutes and $6 to change the way this plays out for everyone.

THE POWER’S OUT!
g1 predaking but he’s loosely based on the barong + wayang wong. this is also kind of a followup to when i redesigned the g1 version of the predacons a really long time ago. i never figured out how i wanted predaking to look then, but i wanted to tackle it for fun inbetween some projects.
