Also this is completely normalised. It's not just a legal loophole. The number of times I've been physically assaulted (punched in the face repeatedly; thrown down flights of stairs; once pushed out of a moving vehicle into a snowbank in -20c) after leaning in to kiss someone probably outnumbers the times I've been identified by the correct pronouns by anyone other than a romantic partner or a union rep. I've had """friends""" respond to hearing of my assaults with things like 'well maybe he had some trauma that you triggered?' I've seen cishets rally around my attackers to call me predatory for nothing more than leaning in. Of course this is all anecdotal, but ask yourself if the transfems (or other especially gnc queers in general for that matter) seem guarded...

i fear the battle is lost at this point but i still flinch every time i see "gay panic" used as a cute positive phrase. Like let's go on say wikipedia.org for a second and try typing that one in folks
