Caregiver is making baby breakfast while baby is fast asleep on Christmas morning. CG comes in the bedroom to wake them up

CG: gently kisses baby’s head and shakes them a little. Baby.. you gotta get up okay?

Baby: Half asleep mmm nu uh five more mins…

CG: Smiles and rubs their hair hmm okay but Santa brought you presents….

Baby opens their eyes almost immediately and yells “presents?!”, runs to the living room where they are met with all sorts of goodies

They both take turns opening there presents and then finish the morning both eating and drinking hot coco

Caregiving 101

Hello all and welcome back to ‘Caregiving 101’! This week we will be diving in to how to keep your little safe while out on Halloween! 

Whether it be trick or treating, parties, or just a scary movie binge, it is still important to make sure your little is 100% safe and secure! Now the level of safety definitely depends on the little, the ‘rules’, the area, and what activity their doing as well as their specific comfort. For example some may want you to track where they are on find my iPhone or life 360 to feel safe while others may even wanna be alone or even have you tag along! It depends on what your little is comfortable with!

Sometimes instead of bringing us safety, things like Life360 or other tracking apps can cause paranoia and fear instead of comfort and safety. Again talk with your little on what makes them feel safe. With that disclaimer out of the way, let’s dive into ways to keep your little safe during 3 scenarios,

Trick Or Treating

Halloween Parties/Fall Festivals 

And last but not least

Scary Movies

Trick or Treating

Trick or treating, one of a little ones favorite activity! But there’s ways to make sure that while trick or treating your little is as safe as possible!

Costumes

Picking out costumes is one of the best parts of trick or treating! Whether it’s scary, cute, spooky, or all of the above, littles love dressing up! 

How can we pick good costumes? 

Well personally I like to make sure to pick costumes that will be good to walk in and that won’t be to uncomfortable after an hour or two.

Some things I don’t recommend is bad fabric or textures on your costume that you don’t like to feel as this will cause you to be upset!

Personally I like to always go with hoodies for mine, whether it’s a oversized carebear hoodie, or black hoodie and cat ears, these are things that still get who you are across while still being safe and comfortable!

Make sure to also dress for the weather!

Depending on where you are, Halloween can either be a cool breeze or a frosty the snow man situation! You want to make sure your warm and cozy. This means things like shorts and a T-shirt isn’t sometimes the best idea. Instead of shorts, try a long skirt or leggings with cool designs! As for T shirt make sure to bring a nice cozy jacket as well!

Safety

Trick or treating can be a little scary especially in small space. Some ways to help this fear is with safety! 

Whether it’s just going to a small little neighborhood or warning you’re little of a house that may have a little jump scare, it’s important that littles are safe on Halloween so that they don’t get upset! 

Some good ideas for faint of heart littles are:

going to retirement centers to do Halloween as many of them have events for the kiddos and oldies!

Trunk or treating

A group trick or treating pact. This way they aren’t alone :)

Looking out for houses with a lot of decor that may give your little the spooks!

And last you can bring a pet or a stuffie  to make them feel more safe

With that said, there’s some good things to watch out for with Halloween! Just remember little ones when getting and eating your candy, caregiver tax is a obligation! :)

Halloween Parties/Fall Festivals 

Parties and festivals are fun, especially Halloween ones! Though when caregiving it’s important to make sure your little is safe. 

They can be really overwhelming and scary for a lot of littles, whether they wanted to go without realizing their triggers or they have no triggers at all, it’s still a good idea to pack some essential items so when your little needs a cool down they can!

Some good, essential items are:

Noise canceling headphones

Chapstick

Fidgets

A snack(just in case they are food picky!)

A water (just in case there is none)

A small sensory toy

A charger

And maybe some other things as well.

It’s easy to get lost so make sure to either hold your littles hand or even have something that’ll give u where they are (with their consent!!) like Life360 or find my iPhone!

Lost littles are never fun to handle especially cause they get scared and don’t know what to do. So create a designated “lost space” maybe by the bathrooms or a food table. This will help in the case that one of y’all do get lost

Also look for warning signs on when it’s time to go, things like tug pulling, texting your phone, or even heading towards the door and standing outside and key things to look out for. 

Although it’s important to have fun, a littles social stamina and battery is just as important as many littles/nureodivergents will not understand there own battery until it’s too late. This also goes along for those with depression and anxiety too! Watch out for your friends :)

Scary Movies

Last but not least scary movies are also something fun to do with your little on Halloween!

The most important thing here is knowing what type of scary movie is good for your little.

Do NOT force your little to watch a scary movie without them wanting to! That is not okay and will be traumatic for them. With that warning out of the way some good movies for each class of ‘spooky little’ is:

Faint littles

(Littles that get scared very easily and would prefer something more cute then spooky)

Spooky buddies 

The great pumpkin 

Garfield Halloween adventure

Hocus pocus 

Coraline(depends!!)

The Addams family

Scooby doo

Casper

Decedents 

And a lot others! Most Disney kids Halloween movies would be suitable :)

(Littles that like a little bit of fear but nothing to scary!)

Goosebumps

Beetle juice

The boy who cried wolf

Scary stories to tell in the dark (I have never seen this one but I’ve heard it’s not to bad!)

Are you afraid of the dark

Caregiving 101

Hello and welcome to this weeks ‘Caregiving 101’ in todays episode we’re going to be talking how to care for your little one!

Many people think that the way to do it is by force and rules and treatinf the little like an actual infant or even worse a nsfw adult but it’s not,

The way to care for a little is sfw and gently.

Some examples of good caring ways are:

brushing their hair for them

Helping them with there daily chores 

Reminding them to eat, drink some water, take there meds

Making sure they don’t miss an appointment

Basically things to help with everyday life! As a caregiver it is YOUR job to make sure they are mentally and physically okay (to an extent ofc!) this also relies on them.

Know that if someone’s mental health and physical health is causing ur mental and physical health to decline it’s better to leave then to stay and get hurt. As hard as this is, you have to do what’s best for you.

With that disclaimer out of the way what are some ways a lot of caregivers are doing it wrong?

Well some examples are:

touching your little in a non appropriate place

Yelling at/scolding them for something they did/accidentally did

Sexualizing there safe space

Not respecting there boundries

Hitting them/abusing them 

And alot more. This is bad because many littles regress because of childhood trauma, whether that trauma is physical abuse or the absence of a childhood, this can be very triggering.

The key to caregiving is acting like a gentle parent instead of a strict friend/lover

Another big thing is to make sure to not call them names like s!lut or bitch. Especially if this is used in a derogatory way, this is a SFW space and using those names can make this space harmful. 

Lastly if someone is caring for a little you wanna care for (talking to you. fallingcorpse/corpse_husband) leave them alone. Deal with it. Especially if that person  is a minor and your there too do nsfw things with them. Leave minors out of ur stupid fantasies like that. 

:) small little vent over, be kind and if someone may is caring for a little you wanna Cg maybe ask them about it (if y’all are friends ofc!) sometimes littles are happy to have a babysitter so that we can have someone when our Cg isn’t there, again this is about consent specifically but if you are making them uncomfy except a big fat no.

Boyfriend/CG: smiles and gets up from his chair sitting on the bed with the baby, ruffling her hair nothing for you to worry about right now okay? We can talk about it another time when your not small. Does that sound good baby? 

Girlfriend: giggles and nods putting the paci back in her mouth, starting to show her boyfriend/cg the house she made

The two cuddle and the baby continues to play Minecraft while the boyfriend praises her on the house they built, later falling asleep until the next day.

Caregiving 101

Hello all! This is now a new series that I will ~hopefully~ get to do once a week called Caregiving 101

This is to help inform new caregivers how to handle a little!

Please keep in mind the disclaimer:

Disclaimer: everything here is SFW! If you think I mean something nsfw I do not lol!

Okay and with that let’s talk about our first topic:

Punishments!

Now the reason I wanted to start with this is because it is the most ‘controversial’ in the age regression community. 

There are many ways to do this correctly but some incorrect ways of punishing your little is:

Ignoring them

Telling them to hurt themself

Taking a comfort object away or saying they can’t sleep with the comfort object

Hitting/slapping/spanks/etc

Gaslighting them

Refusing to listen to them

Calling them names

Yelling at them

Breaking there things

Too long time outs (as in leaving then alone with there thoughts for 30-40+ mins)

And a lot of others 

The reason why these are big no no’s is because regression comes from a place of trauma, these so called ‘punishments’ will NOT help and instead only cause your little to develop more trauma from the fear of being hurt or ignored. Especially with the physical ones.

Personally I don’t think you should ever lay your hands on a little so instead here are some ways to get your little to behave without causing actual harm

pushing bedtime a bit closer 

Lines - (like writing on a piece of paper 5 times a certain sentence - I do this one when I say curse words when small!)

No sweets for a day

No new stuffies for a month

Limited game time (depends ofc!)

Or even better just talk to them about what happened when there big. Not everything needs to be solved with punishments. Speaking of which you may be asking how do I know when I can and can’t give a punishment?

Well a few reasons to not give a punishment is:

they failed a test/failed a class/etc

They hurt themselves

They didn’t eat

They didn’t brush there teeth

They didn’t drink water

And a whole lot more.

There should NEVER be a punishment for things like this. It is important to understand the littles mental health.

Also know to Talk about it with ur little!! Not every caregiver has to have punishments! Sometimes we just need to give them a gentle nudge! It’s all about consent in the caregiving little friendship/relationship 

With that said, again punishment can be helpful if you do them correctly, reminder everything here is SFW only!
