Patch v1.115.216 - May 27th, 2025

Today's patch is meant to fix all the bugs that are listed in last week's Laundry List, as well as some additions to the Nature's Calling event that starts on June 24th. This patch SHOULDN'T break any mods, as it's not an update associated with any new packs, however ....it IS EA after all.

Even with small patches - Important Information to keep in mind: 

BACKUP ALL YOUR SAVES AND REMOVE YOUR MODS (THIS INCLUDES CUSTOM CONTENT) UNTIL CREATORS HAVE CONFIRMED UPDATES OR CLEARED FOR THE PATCH.

! UPDATE YOUR GAME !  You can delay your patch by turning off automatic updates and putting the EA App offline until your favourite mods are confirmed as working or updated. We will, however, only support Version 1.114.46 of the game for up to a week to allow mod creators time to update their mods accordingly. After that, we will insist that you update to Version 1.115.216 for further support.

Any issues regarding mod breakage should be posted in the #mod-support channel for Zerbu’s general mods and the #mod-constructor-support channel for MC4/MC5. EA released a patch today in anticipation of the 3 new kits that are set to launch in May - Golden Years, Restoration Workshop and Kitchen Clutter - in addition, a very full laundry list of bug fixes!

! UPDATE YOUR GAME !  You can delay your patch by turning off automatic updates and putting the EA App offline until your favorite mods are confirmed as working or updated. We will, however, only support Version 1.113.297 of the game for up to a week to allow mod creators time to update their mods accordingly. After that, we will insist that you update to Version 1.114.46 for further support.

EA decided to spring a small patch update on us today! This is supposedly a tiny patch, and not intended to break anything, but as we all know - anything is possible!

MC Command Center 2025.1.1 is out!

The latest public release, MCCC/MC Woohoo 2025.1.1, is out! This has a small hotfix to be compatible with EA's pre-expansion update.

Compatibility:

This has been tested to be working with (but does not require) all expansions and game packs up to Life & Death, and the patch released February 25, 2025 - PC: 1.113.277.1030 / Mac: 1.113.277.1230. It will also work with anything after that Sims 4 update unless otherwise specified on Tumblr/Patreon posts I make after the update. Earlier Sims 4 versions may not be compatible, so we often do not support anything below the specified version here!

The legacy version of Sims 4 will now, and forever, use MCCC version 6.6.0, which can be found on Patreon and on my website.

Sims4 Game Patch Incoming.....

The next patch for Sims4 is scheduled for Tuesday, February 25th (tomorrow). It is expected to be a major update that will prepare the game for the upcoming release of the new expansion pack, Businesses & Hobbies, on March 6th and is expected to have a major impact on all mods.

With the March 6th release, you will most likely need to update even more mods, so just a friendly word of advice...

Play the game offline if you want to avoid updating the game right away or disabling your mods until you have confirmation from your mod creators that all your favourite mods have been updated.

Keep an eye out in Zerbu's Discord, Bee's Corner and HERE  (for my pledged Patreon supporters) for updates on your favourite Zerbu mods.

Patch Update v1.110.265 - October 22nd, 2024

EA released a major patch earlier today, in preparation for the new Life and Death expansion set to release next week. As this was an expansion patch, it is quite common for the patch to cause most (if not all) mods to break - both minor and major (this also includes CC).

Be aware that we do not yet know the extent of how today's patch will affect mods so on the side of caution, continue reading below.

The Future of Mod Constructor: (Semi-)Retired

I have made the difficult decision to retire from developing Mod Constructor, except for adding compatibility with patch updates. With the recent news that there will be no Sims 5 and that The Sims 4 will last indefinitely, it's becoming unsustainable. Even the newest version (V5) was only intended to last until The Sims 4 stops being updated.

Although Mod Constructor has helped the modding community a lot, from a programming standpoint, it's not very stable. The more content I add, the more it starts to crumble on its own weight. That's why I had to start from scratch 5 times.

V5 fixed a lot of the problems previous versions had, but not all of them. Part of the problem is that all versions, including V5, were made with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), which is a massive pain to work with compared to more modern frameworks. Unfortunately, I didn't really have any other options that would work with the libraries Mod Constructor required.

V5 was as stable as I could get it with the limited tools I had to work with, and was more than good enough to last a few more years to keep the community going until the next Sims game, but not forever.

For the reasons mentioned above, the main branch Mod Constructor repository will remain in perpetual beta and I will no longer be releasing new features, and the only updates I'll be releasing are emergency patch fixes, if necessary.

Of course, Mod Constructor is open source, and if anyone else wants to create their own fork of it, they're more than welcome to do so, but whatever happens, it will be without me running it.

On the bright side, we have the future to look forward to. Whether The Sims franchise ends up getting fixed, or is replaced by a rival game, the future of life simulation games looks to be positive.

**Zerbu Mods List Update**

Updated 9/24/24 - to reflect a known conflict for one of Zerbu's popular mods.

For further support on any of Zerbu's other mods, you can visit the #mod-support channel on Zerbu's Discord server or in the #sims4-cc-mod-support channel (for free members) and #pateron-afterschool-help channel (for paid members) on my Discord server - Bee's Corner - which you will receive a special role based on your membership tier. I do offer full support on Zerbu’s mods and will provide minimal/limited support on general mods (by other creators).

Patch Update v1.109.185 - September 18th, 2024

EA released a pre-patch today for the upcoming kits: Storybook Nursery Kit and Artist Studio Kit. This patch will also contain many Laundry List Fixes and may potentially impact some mods.

Be aware that we do not yet know the extent of how today's patch will affect mods so on the side of caution, continue reading below.

Important Information:

BACKUP ALL YOUR SAVES AND REMOVE YOUR MODS (THIS INCLUDES CUSTOM CONTENT) UNTIL CREATORS HAVE CONFIRMED UPDATES OR CLEARED FOR THE PATCH.

! UPDATE YOUR GAME !  You can delay your patch by turning off automatic updates and putting the Origin/EA App in offline mode until your favorite mods have been confirmed as working or updated. We will, however, only support Version 1.108.335 of the game for up to a week to allow mod creators time to update their mods accordingly. After that, we will insist you update to Version 1.109.185 for further support.

Any issues regarding mod breakage should be posted in the #mod-support channel for Zerbu's general mods and the #mod-constructor-support channel for MC4/MC5. Be sure to post in the right channel to avoid any confusion or miscommunication among the support staff. We also ask that you do not double post in the support channels in hopes that your inquiry will be responded to more quickly - this will only cause more delays.
