🎼What is your opinion on how music, art, and culture has changed?The passing of cultural and artistic eras always saddens me, but I have long since learned to appreciate the never-ending cycle. I often like to joke that music peaked with Beethoven; while his work is certainly my favorite, it is impossible to fairly compare to that of any other period. All in all, I try to keep down my nostalgia and appreciate the changing of the times. Recently, with the advent of the internet and worldwide connection, globalization has mixed much of what used to be many disparate cultures into a sort of half-blended world culture. Again, I try to keep an open mind about it, but sometimes the modern world changes so quickly that I have trouble keeping up. If I cannot adapt to the modern night, I must remind myself in times like those, what chance do I have at remaining awake? I recognize how uncommon it is for one of my generation to have escaped torpor for so long, and I attribute that in large part to my efforts to remain involved and interested in the state of the world. But I ramble.

💿What is one (or more) inventions you’re thankful exist in your current time?The mind boggles at how much the state of science and technology can change in not even a millennium! I can scarcely think of an invention whose presence I am not grateful for, but two specifically come to mind: audio recording and electric lights. Even with our enhanced vision, electricity’s introduction into common household use made nighttime unlife much easier: younger kindred, imagine, if you will, having to rely on fire to read in the absence of a nearby window. And being able to record and play back sound at will... well, I’m sure you all should be able by now to figure out why that tickles my fancy so much.

A Path? One of those ridiculous contrivals? I considered it, once, but that was a long, long time ago. I have since come to my senses and realizated that the Paths are simply excuses like any other. Injustice is injustice, sin is sin; just because we are stronger than humans does not mean we may write our own rules. Is that not what separates us from common beasts?

That's as plausible an explanation as any; and unfortunately, since Mages have finite lifespans, just as unprovable. As I can see it, our origins are a mystery that may never be solved.

I tend to be reticent to publically question the truth of the Book of Nod, but the discrepancy between the Kindred and Kithain views of our origins is another sword through the coffin, if you ask me.

It's hard to call the man "wrong" when he was easily the greatest composer of his time, and arguably (in my humble opinion) ever. He also had smashing taste in restaurants.

On the advice of several neonates whom I respect, I have decided to create a blog on www.Tumblr.com. I hope the catchy statement after which I have chosen to brand my on-line persona is not found too divisive or “problematic”; I should hope not, since it does not contain any hidden meaning or even very much truth. Ludwig was right about a good many things, but the idea of a person being objectively “right” in their entirety is laughable. I have employed it here as a humorous device only.

A few, yes. Last I knew, I could trace my lineage down to the Eleventh Generation, though it's more than possible they could have sired great-great-great-great-grandchilder while I was resting. I really must catch back up with my family!

Hello, @a-dream-in-the-dark​! I appreciate that you came to me with your inquiries; I understand your hesitance in reaching out to a senior official of the Camarilla. You’ve asked a great many questions, so I’ll do my best to answer them in order.

Yes, I am an Elder by most definitions. The term is somewhat contentious, representing age to some and Generation to others, but I feel I fulfill both requirements.

I am a member of the Camarilla, though I try not to engage with local politics outside of maintaining sovereignty over my domain. Fortunately for me, there are plenty of other Toreadors eager to fill the position of Primogen.

According to legend, the Kindred were created when God cursed Cain for the murder of his brother Abel, making him the original vampire. He (allegedly) sired three childer, who in turn sired thirteen: the Antediluvians whom the Sabbat so fear. Personally, I believe the stories to be a great deal of embellishment founded on a few scraps of truth. Unfortunately, we may never know for certain; whatever ancient Kindred still survive are no doubt locked in torpor, and it is impossible to verify the veracity of Tumblr.com blogs claiming to be them.

Garou and Kindred are almost always at extreme odds, given that they see us as a product of the great corruption that they fight. However, we are far from their top priority, and they from ours, so I’ve had little reason to seek or encounter them.

Kithain are curious creatures, mostly reclusive and hidden away in their own secret societies. In that way, they are much the same as us, I suppose. Their existences seem at a glance much more joyful than ours, but between a long unlife of hunting in the shadows or many short lives striving endlessly for what is lost, I am not sure which I would favor given the choice. I knew a single Kithain once, but only for a short time. They died of natural causes, so their soul is likely to still be floating around somewhere, as I understand.

I appreciate it, Lilac. I tend to refer to myself using they/them or she/her pronouns, but I have no real preferences. Things like gender and terms of address seem less and less important the longer you unlive, at least in my experience.
