Lejla Hand Art: December This is our 4th Christmas without Lejla. I wish I could go back to when we had her with us. Our lives have completed changed, and going back to the chaos, chemo, therapy, and sleepless nights seem like a dream come true for all of us. Like everyone, 2020 has been changed by the COVID-19 pandemic, civil unrest, and an election that divided the country. As a result of the pandemic, election, and civil unrest, I think the world has learned a lot about grace, kindness, transparency, and patience. We continue to be thankful for our family and friends, eventhough, we can't be together in places we would normally find ourselves in. Family Update: Adnan, has been incredibly busy working during the pandemic as a healthcare workers whose department deals with oxygen, equipment, and durable medical equipment. After 18 years, Adnan's future with Allina is unknown due to a sale of his division, to an outside company. We are hoping something good will come out of the transition. I have worked from home since March with very little time in the office, but I continue to remain very busy. I am thankful for an amazing and supportive company with great leadership. I am also ready to get some new stamps in passport. Jaden, had a severe football injury, and has continued to do really well in his post-surgery recovery. Jaden has been going back and forth with distance, and Hybrid learning in 2020. Mikenna, is very adaptable to all of this COVID-19 stuff, and has been in full distance learning so far in 2020, but looks forward to going back to dance and her friends. Heroes for Hope, had a successful fall festival raising funds for our endowment at Children's MN in a COVID-19 friendly space. We are grateful, for all our friends, family, volunteers, donors, vendors, and Children's MN staff who continue to be a huge part of this mission.
