largely i can agree with the sentiment that gquuuuuux has some pacing issues, because there’s plot beats that could have really benefited from some time to breathe, but on the other hand it is a season written with such scalpel-precision thematically and so rewarding when pulling apart layers of meaning that i struggle to see it dismissed as a mess or as a mixed-bag

i’m such a sucker for doubling and weird mirrors. the gun exchange with kycillia-nyaan and challia-machu (strength-as-freedom and freedom-as-strength) this week Really got me, but the moments like that happen all the time! some of them even go farther with meta-commentary in a way that’s so satisfying!

obviously fingers crossed for a second cour but when people start doomposting about how gquuuuuux will never stick the landing i have to wonder if they aren’t looking past the colorful exterior to see how elegant the construction actually is.

if i’m wrong i’m wrong, but hey, the ride this far has been something special for sure
