BENEATH THE MYCELIUM RETURNS:

In a song of love and freedom, there is always that discordant note. Unfitted with the rest, it screams a symphony of hatred. The glint in His eyes seemed to sing love, but it was an assault as to what it meant to love. King Sprucestar exhaled slowly, and listened.

The unexcused two-month break was due to a few things happening, and also due to a lack of motivation to finish my territory map that I promised. Moon seven will arrive soon, I promise!

trope i really like is self-loathing characters desperate for the catharsis of punishment for frankly rather selfish reasons who r also obsessed with repeatedly pressing others into hating them and hurting them as essentially a method of self harm. yes baby continue making it worse for urself and everybody around u instead of doing an actually productive and effective journey of improvement and redemption

The King's eyes danced across his advisor's faces, discomfort running rivers through their expressions. His paws kneaded the ground as one of them stepped away.

"King [REDACTED], we need to know why you haven't taken the advice that the neighboring city states have given you. If this continues, we'll be forced to take action." [REDACTED]'s hiss echoed throughout the chamber.

"Do you not have faith in your king?" His voice was unwelcome. The King's eyes rose to the stands, where He stood, a grin on his face. Woven cloth tied tight against His face.

"Of course I do, I trust that our saints have blessed him to lead." [REDACTED]'s eyes darted from the King to the new arrival. They finally settled on the King's face. "I just don't think he's actually leading with the Kingdom's best interests at heart."

"Do you think that he loves you? His voice rang clear. A laugh, transparent in His tone.
