Then it got out of hand and spread to all the other sexist characters; sorry Joan, your only sin is being too drunk to realize you're in this picture! He's lucky not to be downtown or in the slums of Vileville, and Victorine is looking after him. Very closely. Translation for their book : For Victorine : The quest for the impossible or The impossible quest. Sorry Victorine, there's no happy ending for what you're hoping for. For Bean : Volatile in french is a word for birds but also for someone who isnt meant to stay long. That's also a word for a liquid changing its state to evaporate, since Bean is in a phase of change during his journey

NAME: Benjamin-Peter, but he usually goes by Bean. Ben is for close friends. PRONOUNS: He/Him, They/Them (He's questioning. No, he still doesn’t know that he's questioning, but they’re slowly getting there.) AGE: 24 (probably) ROLE: Counselor CABIN: 5

BACKGROUND: Bean used to be a teenage Once-ler known as Beanpole, or BP. He made a stupid wish to no longer be a Once-ler once he found out his future wasn't going to be so great, lost a bunch of memories, spent +/- 10 years unable to leave his hometown, until he made friends who had to physically drag him out of that situation. Since then, he’s been living in his friends’ Thneedville. He’s been planning to go on a big journey to become a famous musician, but unfortunately… he hasn’t gotten that far yet. Life got in the way, he’s been in a bit of a rough spot, and saying there is a lot on his mind would be an understatement. He still wants to travel… But he can’t do that without money. He needs a paycheck, any paycheck. So here he is again, in Weehawken, as the counselor of Cabin 5 this time.

PERSONALITY: Generally kind, though a bit snarky. Actually pretty good with kids, although if you told him that, he’d disagree with you. Is great at rhyming and improvisation, and can create a song at the drop of a hat. He works out his feelings through songwriting. Slow to warm up to people at times. He’s had a pretty bad year, and he’s trying to regain some of the confidence he felt last time he was at camp.

LIKES: Music, architecture, knitting, reading, riding his motorcycle, stargazing, the color pink. DISLIKES : Thunder (and similar loud noises like fireworks), being made fun of, big decisions, people judging him for putting off those big decisions, walking on eggshells, smug jerks.

I wandered around the dance hall all evening looking for a certain someone, but he was just nowhere to be found….until I witnessed a horde of flustered teens running out of the pantry in the blacklight corner. Turns out an adult had accidentally crashed their spin-the-bottle party. 😊

You know how I said I wasn't too sure about the whole music teacher thing? Yeah, let me rephrase that: I am AMAZING at the music teacher thing. I mean, sure, I might not know exactly how music theory works, or how to read sheet music. But kids don't care about that!

For the record, I’m not a mama’s boy

...But I get why someone might get that impression of me. It’s... complicated.

And when things are complicated, I usually end up writing songs about it. It’s a nice way to get some feelings out. Thing is, these songs are usually pretty bad. It takes a lot of editing and erasing before I actually feel comfortable singing them where people can hear them.

So you can probably understand why I freaked out a little when my demo tape ended up in someone else’s walkman.

For the greater good

You know what I said earlier about deja vu? Yeah, Entre's not the only one who triggered that. There was this other guy at camp, Som.

Of course, I have met him before. He was at the beach last year. And that encounter went... great? ...Okay, no, thats a lie. I freaked out. Because... I know I knew him even before that, a long, long time ago. I just don't remember it.

But then I ran into him again at camp. And when you're both stuck in the same cabin, you have to at least try to get along, right?

Archery 101 with Fellow Adventurer Nenela!! (feat. Bean ♥)

I should probably say something again about my actual job at summer camp, huh? It’s been a pleasure teaching archery to kids, despite being forced to have the younger ones use plunger arrows instead of real arrows (yes, I’m still upset over that), and mainly it’s just been really cool to give them that confidence boost through archery.

Also, a secret: I learned archery intuitively while surviving in the wastelands, but doing and teaching are two different things, so…I actually had to look up online how to teach it real quick before I got started at Weehawken. 😂 Don’t tell anyone, okay!! Bean boy said I was pretty good at the instructor thing!! It helped to have good students too though, like sweet little Nenela…I hope she enjoyed the lesson. 🥰 Even though I got rather distracted halfway through..

Music 101 - or how to teach a kid to write a song in 60 minutes

So... I really wasn't too sure about the whole music teacher thing at first. Sure, I'm great at music, but teaching? Teaching kids, specifically? That's an entirely different thing.

Something about deja vu

So you know how sometimes you'll see someone, and you suddenly feel like you've met them before? Yeah, I had that a lot while at camp. So when I spotted a certain person by the lake... Curiosity got the best of me, I guess. Turns out, the feeling was mutual.

That time I (accidentally) made a girl cry

Yeah, I know, that doesn't exactly sound like a thing to be proud of. But trust me when I say I didn't do it on purpose! All I wanted was just to have a friendly talk with Coal, a girl I met at the campfire, and before I knew it, we were talking about dreams, the future, workaholics... And somehow that ended in tears.

I hope she and her friends will be okay... Maybe I'll try to visit them someday.

Man, I really kinda forgot about the whole 'keeping a record of camp' plan, huh? Good thing I did write a few things here and there while I was away, so... I guess it can't hurt to post those. It's not like anyone is reading these anyway, right?
