I want my kids to grow up thinking that I am their safe place.
I pray that their world never comes crashing down on them but if it does, I hope that their first thought will be “It’s okay because at least I have my mom to help me get through this”.

To be honest.. if more children were shown from birth that they are loved, cared for, and listened no matter their gender we might not have some of the problems we have now.

I am your mother. You are my child. I am your quiet place. You are my wild. I am your calm face. You are my giggle. I am your wait. You are my wiggle. I am your dinner. You are my chocolate cake. I am your bed time. You are my wide-awake. I am your lullaby. You are my peek-a-boo. I am your goodnight kiss. You are my I love you.

Having a good mental health day.
Benji slept about 7 hours last night, so that helped tons. And this morning after he ate, he was so happy and smiling, and we were listening to Disney music (he may or may not really like Moana). Then, after we took M to work, Benji and I went to Publix. It was the first time I've driven in God knows how long, and while I never actual got out on the main road (privileges of living 2 seconds from everything) it was still really nerve wracking. But it all went really well, and it was early enough in the morning that nobody was there. That made it super relaxing. Benji even fell asleep after a couple of aisles. It was good to act like the grown up I've been pretending to be. It felt good to be productive in a tangible way. It was good to feel like I can actually do this motherhood thing. And it felt good to go out with my baby son, even if it was just to the grocery store, and have a good time. Plus freeze pops were on sale, so that's just a great bonus.
