Project description

Tech Outreach is a place that encourages collaboration and inspiration. Tech Outreach was designed around the idea of Koha and being a place that brings communities together and creates relationships. Overall it provides a desired space for Massey students to inhabit during the university terms as well as becoming a facility for members of the wider public interested in developing valuable digital skill. The design features a multi-level structure consisting of a workshop on the basement floor, a permanent exhibition space on the ground  floor, on the first floor a computer space, and on the top  oor a relaxing space to socialize with others. Each level is assessable by wheelchair.

My placemaking concept involves providing a space dedicated to enhancing digital literacy capability. During the semester breaks the space will be re-inhabited by members of the wider public whom are interested in gaining such knowledge. Massey students will become the tutors and help teach these people new theoretical and practical frameworks of contemporary education.
