Okay so what’s been going on with Ben’s mun, and why has she been gone for so long?

Basically: February was absolutely insane. (tw: illness, hospitals)

My boyfriend’s birthday was the 3rd, things got stressful because it was also my dad’s 60th birthday party the same day, but we managed to make some time to celebrate by going out to lunch. Unfortunately, I ended up having my first seizure ever within 20 minutes of paying for the bill (under 30 seconds, stopped on it’s own, my boyfriend caught me and put me in the recovery position immediately, got to the hospital quickly and felt fine after some saline, haven’t had one since). Because TX law, I have a suspended drivers license for 90 days and have been resting. That, plus my parents went to Israel for 2 weeks less than 24 hours later, means I was stuck at home resting for a week under Doctor’s orders, until the weekend before Mardi Gras, when I had to work for 6 hours both days, which was where I caught a bug that knocked me on my ass for another week. Then it was time for my parents to come home, and simultaneously went crazy, because my mom is stressed at work, plus is heading out to a retreat tomorrow, my dad is retiring on friday, my boyfriend is working out of town, and I am hosting/running a murder mystery party for a friend on Friday as well, plus making the cake, and providing all the props and clues. It’s been insane, but the good news is that things should be calming down soon?

Ben's hand found Jenna's easily, as he kept up the conversation with the neighbors, trying to wrap up the interaction as the more time they were in front of strangers, the more danger she was in.

"Hey honey, no, I haven't. They're right here, I was just bringing them in when... Evie? and Declan?, " he pointed to each member of the couple and pretended to not fully remember their names, keeping up their cover, "came over to welcome us to the neighborhood. This is Sarah, my wife." He gave all of them a friendly smile that he didn't really mean while he tried to assess the situation for her safety.

"Well guys, I appreciate the welcome, but clearly I've already taken enough of a break getting things moved in, so I need to get back to it, but trust me, I'm leaving you in capable hands."

He went in to seemingly give Jenna a kiss on the cheek, and did, but quickly whispered, "I'll be watching, signal if you need me."

Jenna sighed as she continued to potter around the kitchen, clearly the role of the domestic housewife didn't suit her, she needed to be doing things and not just being placed on house arrest. Luckily she had Ben to keep her sane, after all they were a newly wedded couple in the suburbs of California, completely opposite to what she thought her witness protection would be but she was glad she was with someone she could trust.

Spotting her 'Husband' outside, conversing with the neighbours, Jenna made her way out. Maybe meeting the neighbours would be a distraction from unpacking all the new necessities they had to buy.

"Hey babe! Have you brought in the plates? I can't for the life of me... Oh hi, so sorry! I didn't realise we had company." Jenna grinned, maybe in another life she could have been an actress. Running a hand through her freshly dyed brown hair, she pulled it up into a bun before she reached out for her husband's hand, absently holding it as she waited to be introduced to the neighbours.

He chuckled when she poked his cheek and hugged her tight, quickly noticing the tears. His big brother instincts kicked in and he held Darcy’s face in his hands, using his thumbs to wipe the tears in her eyes.

“Hey now, don’t go crying on me, Fitz.” He noticed the dark circles under her eyes hidden by concealer, familiar though they were. “Have you still not been sleeping? You’re the smartest person I know, you have to know its not good for you. Why are you here? Is anything wrong, are you safe? I hope you’re just taking a vacation because you felt like it and forgot to tell me.”

It was official now. She was leaving, Darcy was already inside the gate and she was cleaning the tears after talking on FaceTime with JJ and Magni, and saying her goodbyes to the Conalls. Man, it was hard.

Darcy couldn't stay still until it was time to board so she was walking around, until she noticed someone she knew and that someone she hadn't seen in so long.

"Ben!?"

Ben had just gotten off of his flight from Johannesburg and was getting a bite and a coffee before leaving. He had forgotten how rough jet lag could be, but was happy to be back home in New York. He was just thinking about whether or not to call Darcy when he heard her voice from across the way.

He instantly looked up and adjusted his duffle bag on his shoulder as he saw her, an immediate and involuntary smile crossing his face. Despite everything else, she was his only family, his little sister, and there was no power on earth strong enough to stop him from loving or being happy to see her, even if the location was strange and the situation awkward.
