When I met you at the airport before Christmas I had never felt so nervous and and electric. Jolts of excitement crackled across my entire body and prickled like pins and needles down to my toes. When you held me for the first time in four months in the Arrivals bay I knew in that moment I could never want anything more. That I could never want to be anywhere more. That I could never want to be with anyone ever more than I did with you. I knew that I would love you forever.
It feels a lot of the time that I’m stumbling around the same circle, time and time again, repeating “I love you, I love you, I love you” like lines on a piece of school paper. My scattered and shredded remains all bear the same, never-fading message for you. A thousand tiny flecks of paper blowing in the wind and drifting down empty city streets, that repeat again and again and again, I love you.
