AU world where earth is dying slowly. (Isnt it always?) The earth has lost its spin but not its orbit. One day is 365 days and the people of this dying world are constantly on the move, to gather resources, or to protect the ones they have. The move on sand ships with legs called Walkers. There are many kinds of them. They must always travel west, as the sun creeps up on them from the east. It is a place of death. To get too close to the searing hot zone.

Eivor is Khan of her clan. (No not the ravens clan, that one belongs to sigurd.) She is known as the East Horizon. It is both her name and her clans name. No one knows what the East Horizon looks like. But they know they exist, and that if you do enough bad... they come for you. The bad has happened to her own people. Now she must figure out how to proceed, and if she even wants to be who she has been for so long.
