Today’s #zine #review is of “Bookstores on Road Trip US West Coast” by Cammy!

This zine is so beautiful! It’s the size of two printer papers, folded like a map. It documents Cammy’s experiences at different bookstores in California, Oregon, and Washington. Cammy is Japanese, so the zine is written in both English and Japanese. I love the little illustrations Cammy includes: books, bookmarks, maps of the stores… If I ever go on a road trip to that area, I want to bring this zine with me.

Daily Instrument — Burczybas

The burczybas is a Polish friction drum. It has a wooden barrel as a resonator, the top of the barrel is made of a membrane. Horse hair is attached to a hole in the membrane. To play the burczybas one player holes the instrument and the other either wets their hand or wears a rosined glove and rubs the horse hair.

I’ve supported finnick through a lot and defended them and I’ve always been proud they're from my district but honestly they went way too far by doing the salute during the interview. A textile-inspired tribute to Palestine, Turtle Island, Èire, Alba, and Korea.

Palestine should be free from the IOF.

I used Korean embroidery, Celtic Tartans, Turtle Island beadwork, and kufiya patterns of Palestinian origin as my muses. I limited the palette to colors used in the Palestinian Flag.

I decided to make this while abstaining from drawing characters.

Y'know, if a formerly well-behaved straight A student suddenly starts almost not passing their classes and crying all the time and getting into trouble, maybe the default conclusion from every authority figure should not be that they are lazy and simply need to pull themselves together.
