hi there! i appreciate how much u love that blurb series, but i'm just not gonna return to that. it's been dormant for several years at this point, and i don't feel comfortable writing something that concludes a dormant series when i don't have inspiration for it past "people want to read it". don't get me wrong, i love that people still love it all these years later, but i don't wanna write something if my heart isn't in it. it's the same reason i haven't returned to some other dormant pieces, like my koner series or my venus series (sorry to disappoint but like at this point i feel like that's obvious that that's going on an indefinite hiatus)— my heart just isn't there anymore and i know that, if i put out something that my heart isn't in, i won't fully be comfortable or happy with it.

more than that, if u look at my most recent postings on this blog, i just sorta. generally don't write at all anymore. the last thing i Wrote (defined as more than being like "imagine this!" and moving on) was like back in the summer. i had some ideas that were thrown around for a while, but nothing ever came of it because i just Don't Write at all anymore (lemme clarify: i do write!!! i have begun writing poetry again and am dipping my toes into songwriting, but fanfiction is not the type of writing i'm doing anymore). i'm not ruling out the possibility that i won't EVER return to fanfic (however the factors that go INTO why i'm not writing fic anymore seem to be pretty solid and like i don't know if they'll change anytime soon of like. i don't have time anymore with my job and finishing up my degree, and also a i have a whole manifesto that i've briefly mentioned previously about why i wrote in the first place and how i don't need that kind of escape anymore) but, if i do, it won't be with a piece for a fandom i'm not apart of anymore and for a character i don't like anymore. and even if you ARE ok with just the blurb situation and not even a whole fic, it's gonna be the same answer. it doesn't matter what format it is, it's just not gonna happen.

so tldr: im so so sorry but i just won't be returning to that blurb series, i don't care about that character/fandom anymore and don't wanna write and release something that my heart isn't in, and i also just don't write anymore anyway. i'm sorry i know those pieces have a sorta cult following but i'm just 😭 i'm sorry i'm just not gonna return to it :( breaks my heart to say it but like i'm sorry

painting rockstar!eddie’s nails before a show. it’s not necessary common in the 80s american metal scene for artists to paint their nails, but eddie started the tradition when he performed at a charity benefit — he painted his nails the color of the charity’s logo just to add something interesting to his look for the event (black jeans and a tee can get a bit stale after awhile, especially if that’s all you’ve been wearing since middle school). and, everyone agreed at the time that the performance he and the rest of corroded coffin put on at that charity even was the best they’d ever seen from the band, so, of course, eddie being the superstitious man that he is, he continued to keep painting his nails to make every single show after that his best yet.

eventually, somewhere along the way, it also become a bit of a way to defy the mainstream media, who told him that he was weird and that his nail polish made him too feminine to be some kind of bad ass rockstar. for every amazing show the played, every award they won, every mtv and red carpet appearance they did, he was continually proving the media wrong with his painted nails and his ever-increasing, global rockstar status.

having you paint his nails before each show also became a bit of a grounding technique for him; it helps him cope with those pre-show jitters that never quite go away no matter how many times he performs, helps him calm down a bit and lock into that rockstar state of mind so he deliver another amazing performance alongside his fellow bandmates, his best friends of over a decade.

it’s also a nice way to bond with his favorite person — you, the love of his life — before he has to go spend a couple hours on stage, away from you. you paint his nails with the utmost care, helping him decide on a color beforehand and holding his hands with such love and care as you apply the polish to his finger nails, clean up the edges, and correct any mistakes. you gently blow on his nails to help them dry more quickly and then, one the polish has dried, you carefully hand him each of his rings so he can put them on. finally, you send him off with a kiss for good luck (and because you love him), then head to the special v.i.p section in the stadium with seats reserved for you and your friends and family in it. it’s a wholesome routine, and one you both cherish immensely.

not that anyone cares, but i had a tshirt WAY back in freshman year of hs (so like... 9 years ago...) for my fav band back then, they had just released their first album and the shirt was like THEE first shirt they released thru Hot Topic, and i've since gotten rid of THAT EXACT SHIRT

but i recently fell back in love with this band (for... reasons...) and i found the same shirt on ebay and bought it for shits and gigs, and i got it today and like. idk. i feel nostalgic and oddly warm about it. an old piece of myself has returned. back then, they were just a lil whimpy band, but nowadays they're incredibly well-known and idk. i'm the same but different, and they are too. growth, but stable. same but different.
