the next time he met yuji, tae was the one in need. he had been feeling off most of the day. one of those days where he sort of had a fight with his dad but the man couldn't be bothered to really fight with him. tae had gotten over it in his own way, by spending said money on whatever his eyes landed on.
but that wasn't the issue at hand. at some point during the day, he met with his friends at the park. they spent time together, they spent his money and the group split ways not too long after that. it wasn't until he was at another store that he realized his wallet was missing. it wasn't too hard to deal with in the digital age but the missing wallet had him doubling back to the park.
which then lead him to yuji, sitting in the area he had just been in. they met each other enough that didn't mind walking up to ask a somewhat pressing question. "hey, did you happen to see a wallet here? or see someone walking away with one?" he hadn't been gone for too long but long enough that others passed through. "it was pretty bulky, grey and black with white stickers. does that ring a bell?"

he was lost in his own thoughts. rarely did tae pull away from his go-to friends but he found himself doing that since since the talent show and everything after. answers. he had to wait for an answer. it was the sole thing on his mind at this point. he wished he could've found out right then and there.
but he didn't. instead he found himself walking mindlessly through the streets of seoul. the sun had just set, he had his phone in hand and music blasting as he went replayed everything his mind. what did he get right? what did he get wrong.
so, there was no surprise that he bumped into someone. his phone slipped hitting the ground and one of his blue tooth earphones fell out. it reminded tae he needed another pair. but he was still in his gaze, bowing finally once his mind caught up with him.
"i'm sorry for that. i had a lot on my mind and i haven't been paying attention. are you alright? if you need anything fixed let me." he said though, his mind wasn't fully on what was happening with other thoughts lingering.

tae eyed her for a minute, wondering is she really meant it or she was just being polite. and then a second later, he had the idea that he didn't care. he was willing to take the compliment without much fuss. "i mean it, it was a stand out to me so i'm sure it had to be for the watchful eyes." those eyes being the employee's of the company he wanted to impress himself. "and thank you."
"i was nervous since i walked in the door, sorta of happy the performance is over now so i can watch the others." other than mentally comparing himself to them in every aspect. but that was a little too doom and gloom and tae managed to tuck the words into his head. he did as she said, taking a seat next to her. "i should grab something to drink as well." the sentence being muttered to himself as he eyed her water.
"as for the guitar...i've been playing since i was in high school at least? on and off but it wasn't four years ago that i buckled down and focused on it. nice to meet you as well, hopefully, most of us in this room will meet again as trainees...if that's something you want. the indie route is also good."
fresh off the stage, tae was a nervous ball of energy. they had finished their stage but he wanted to know what people thought. he didn't want to ask heechul, he was sure his friend would be full of nothing but praise. that how he was. instead he made his way over to another performer, his guitar still around his body. "hey, i saw you performer earlier, you did a good job." he didn't have a reason to lie and he wasn't a professional.
"and now, i kindly as if you don't mind telling me what you think of ours?" slight nerves crept in at that, "if you saw our performance, if you didn't. i'll just take it as you saying it was greatest performance ever performed." he could lie to himself for a bit. "i'm taegeun."

"working hard? never." he returned the playful energy with a smile, his full attention on heechul now that he had arrived. "i even took some time to slack off and gets us some treats." tae gestured to the table, a cookie already in hand himself. "as for ideas for the stage..." he leaned back in his chair, seiriously thinking about it.
"how about this? towards the middle of the song, we'll rip our shirts off and continue performing, i'm sure no one will be able to look away after that." they might get kicked out as well but it would be unforgettable. but that was tae being silly, when it came to the serious half his answer, he barely had anything.
"i think we should just have fun, like we practiced. there is more space for you to do some dance moves and i'll try to move along as best i can with the guitar." tae leaned forward a bit, his hand coming to his chin. "we can try and do more to interact with the crowd, inside the room...we're just pointing at the wall but some direct eye-contact shouldn't hurt. more importantly, you should just be your amazing self, they'll see the talent."
@bexktaegeun
heechul didn't know what he expected when he stepped inside the cafe but he knew he was staring a ton before he ordered a dessert and a tea to go with it. sure he was here to check out the cafe but he was also here to figure out his performance alongside tae.
sure there had been some planning and practicing at each other's homes but it felt nice to be outside of an apartment this time. maybe a change in scenery would help more with figuring out how their performance would go for the talent show.
looking around the place, he instantly spots tae and walks over. he can't help the smile on his lips as he sits beside his best friend. "not working too hard on our performance are you?" he can't help the way his tone becomes a bit teasing as he can't help the fond gaze that always happens when he's looking at the other male.
"got any ideas for when we are on stage? i wanna make sure we keep everyone's eyes on us when we perform."

"publicly combusting would be a way to impress the crowd though, no one would ever forget it." sure, it would scar some people for life but they wouldn't forget her name. "i still don't recommend it." though, all of his words were paired with a smile and a friendly tone. he could understand the fears of bombing, he had already done it once and he had his own.
tae was about to respond but her last comment made him laugh a little, "i won't lie and say i bombed but i'm actually unsure of how i did. i wanted to focus on having fun, so i tried not to look at the crowd too much. i didn't want to see them being uninterested." that was the fear in the back of his mind. "that being said...i am worried that the studio eyes watching won't think i improved from my failed audition. i'm trying to impress them the most." and have a good time. though that part wasn't as nearly important to him.
"as long as you focus on having a good time and doing your best...i think you'll make it. and now you'll have someone cheering you on the in the crowd. look at me to get a little energy if you need it, i'll even download one of those apps to make a sign." even if it was a competition, he wanted everyone to do well. they all had the same dream of performing and he was sure most of them felt a fair bit of nerves.
he had lost sight of heechul at some point but tae was sure they'd find their way back to each other. right after their performance he stopped to chat with someone, he wanted feedback. then there was taking his set-up back to the car. better to get it out of the way now. it'd be a main to move anything when everyone left at once.
just as he made it back inside the cafe, someone was wrapping up their performance. tae found a random seat and took it, clapping as he did so. he turned his head to the person next to him, "it seemed like a good performance, it's too bad i caught the end of it." a bit of small talk while they waited for the next performer to get set up. "do you plan on performing? or have you already performed? if you don't mind me asking."

tae turned his attention to the stage for a moment. it seemed like the set was finished and he clapped along. not that he had been paying much attention but it was the polite thing to do. "well, i hope you do get the chance again, to take the stage when you're confident. you seem like you have a very easy going personality, i could see it translating well on stage." and it wasn't lip service, that being said, maybe his new friend was the type to freeze up on stage even with an easy going personality.
"thanks, it'll help us feel more in the performance." if the crowd really enjoyed their performance, maybe that would sway watchful eyes. "i can admit, i'm a bit nervous. i auditioned for one of the companies once before and i didn't get in. now, i want to make sure i do my best. maybe they'll see an improvement."
while making sure to keep his full divided attention on the male, JORDAN had nodded his head in agreement to what he had responded with. as much as JORDAN did want to participate in the fun activities, physically he was prepared for the challenge. but, mentally he wasn’t 100 percent with his confidence.
“you know that’s exactly why i had to talk myself out of going up there and make a fool of myself.” he chuckled lightly afterwards. “it seems fun, but to practice, worry about any mistakes, my mind would’ve been insane. maybe next time you can cheer me on if this were to happen again.” he responded with a friendly smile. “but i can’t wait to watch you and your friends get up there. now i can be the one to cheer you on in the sidelines.”

Community Talent Show Solo
thinking back, despite being best friends with heechul they rarely performed together. that's what made this opportunity extremely exciting. he wondered if he'd look a little cool on stage, if heechul would notice him a bit more. there was the desire to become idols on both their parts but it felt like his friend hadn't seen this side of him often.
and he wanted to show his best.
he had managed to keep himself busy enough until they found a spot to run through another practice session. then followed the counting down of performers until it was finally their turn. enough that he knew that heechul must have been secretly annoyed with his running commentary. it wasn't like tae didn't know how to be silent in and take in the moment but this moment was different.
he couldn't stop talking. not when he fixed his guitar across his body. it didn't stop until they were on stage and he found himself staring at the crowd.
there was time for a quick intro on both their parents. their cover of like a monster, rock version. maybe he was a little heavy handed with praising heechul for his producing skills. and then it was time to perform.
there was a lot of practice in him just being natural on stage. he'd be singing but he also had a guitar strapped to him. that wouldn't allow much dancing on his part but that didn't mean they weren't going to have fun. it was all about fun and good show. as the performance started, he was sure he had the technical parts down. and it didn't take too long to get out of his head and into the performance. the crowd's response also helped, compared to the passive reaction's of the judges when he auditioned.
the feeling that made him second guess if he was doing a good job. it cranked up his nerves and it stopped him from giving his best performance. but this? having people in front you, willing to show their interest. it all translated into his performance.
and what he really enjoyed? watching heechul in his element. the fact that he didn't have to sneak glances, they could share eye-contact because it was all apart of the experience.
but he had fun, a lot of fun. enough that when it came to the end he was a little sad.
they were able to go out with a bang at least. a moment for him to take center stage as the song ended with his guitar solo. he spent days working on it, perfecting and now it was his total focus. it ended with flair, timed for the moment heechul stopped singing.
tae allowed himself bask in it before they made their way off the stage.

"on one hand, it's smart not to join if you haven't been preparing for it." if he thought about the fact that he wanted to become a trainee. he wanted to put on his best performance and get scouted. "on the other hand, you never know what might happen." some people were just lucky, if they had the skills or just charisma. the world worked in strange ways. "if you do decide to take to the stage, i'll cheer you on for the extra confidence."
"and no worries, i'm pretty sure you were sitting here first. it's only right that i squeeze in." it wasn't as if he had much anyway, just a drink and some pastries. "that being said, yes. i'm waiting for my friend to arrive, we're going to be performing together so....fingers crossed." he wanted to win but he could take a loss, as long as he had the chance to audition again.
JORDAN had arrived to the cafe a bit earlier since he had already
been outside and to beat traffic. today was the time for him to take a
breather from being a workaholic and to enjoy the fresh air — as well
as being in a different scenery.
after switching tables to be closer to the view of the performance
that was ending pretty soon, he relaxed for a little over 5 minutes — a
new record he definitely added to part of his goals. his laptop was
also open since he was editing a few things to be able post on his
channel; a choreography routine he created just over the weekend.
just as his attention went from watching a performance on the stage
to his laptop, he didn’t realize someone was already sitting next to
him. it startled him a bit seeing the individual, but he tried his best
not to show it — until the two eventually made eye contact with one
another. returning the friendly gestures he then responded,
“i’m actually a bit indecisive about joining the talent show. i think my
skills are a tiny bit rusty and i might make a fool of myself if i do go on
the stage.” he jokingly stated. “my apologies if i took up your
space sitting next to you. i had arrived a little earlier, but just moved
around to get a better view of things. how about you? have you
thought about showing off your talents on the stage?”

there was still time before he had his own performance. early enough that he could watch some of the others. he'd be meeting up with heechul soon but he had enough time to wander around. enough time for him to wander up to cafe few and purchase a few items. if there was food around then he wouldn't be too far away. there was also the need to get rid of his nerves. it'd be different if there was some regular talent show but he bought into the rumors. even if he didn't win, there was a chance someone would notice him and give him a chance.
right?
there was an open seat at one of the table's and tae grabbed it for himself just as the current performance finished up. it didn't take long before someone snagged the seat next to him. he hadn't planned on saying anything until their eyes met and there was a slightly moment. one he covered with a smile and a slight bow of his head. "are you performing in the talent show? or have you already performed?" a good as opening as any.
"i just arrived a bit ago."

there was a second of wondering if he would be rejected. he wasn't above pouting if needed but with her agreement he found himself perking up. "that is a good question." he muttered to himself. it wasn't so much that he needed her to film him. he could set up a steady cam and leave it as is. he didn't want to take up too much of this helpful strangers time. "if you could just watch it once, sort of a review."
what he wanted was feedback first before he did the final take. "if you could just watch me once, offer some feedback...that would help a lot." that had been the main point of his friends. though, this was also a hangout with no payment so maybe they'd be a no show. "i might need you to record if they don't make it. i won't wait forever." tae was still thankful for the help and he didn't want to waste too much of his time.
"hopefully, they'll show up by the time i'm done with a few takes. if not, i'll just push on." and he had to find a way to repay her, even if she denied it.
"i'm tae by the way. it's nice to meet you and i hope my performance isn't too much of a disappointment." his dancing wasn't bad but it was further behind than his singing by a few marks
while hanna has long gotten over being paranoid about being randomly recognized from her childhood since, well, it hasn't happened for a long long time, it's not often that she gets stopped in the middle of the streets at all-- especially so when she has her earbuds in and the music turned up.
so the fact that she feels someone do just that on an otherwise normal day, hanna blinks in surprise and mild confusion when someone pops into her field of vision. she quickly pulls out said earbuds once she sees he person's lips moving and manages to catch the rest of what they're saying.
"oh," is all she says at first, waiting for her brain processing everything she's just taken in before speaking again. "do you need me to just like, watch you as an audience, or? do you need me to help film?" people busking and performing covers was pretty normal and she's helped plenty of friends and people from her university with recording their own works and projects, so it wouldn't be a problem if that's what this person wanted as well but she didn't want to jump to conclusions or assume anything.
"either way is fine with me," she adds on with a smile, one she hopes is friendly enough. "you don't need to pay me for anything though, i'm happy to help!" she had no immediate or urgent plans anyways, as she was just planning to visit the bbq restaurant she used to work at and say hi to the owners since it had been a while since she last saw them.

there weren't too many people outside, just as he wanted it. not that tae had an issue with other's watching him perform but he wanted to record a video. it looked like there weren't going to be too many people walking back and forth. there was the option of finding a new place to record but it was a nice set up and he didn't want to move.
now, he just found himself waiting.
and waiting and waiting. some of his friends were supposed to show up, to help him with the filming process but they had yet to show. this was common enough but he still wanted to get some takes done before more people started to walk past and gather. a few more minutes of waiting and tae decided to get the ball rolling. he stopped the first person that walked past.
"hey, sorry for the sudden stop. i'm about to recording a cover and i wanted to know if you could watch my performance once. i had some friends that were supposed to watch it but they're running behind and i want to get started. i can pay you for your time as well!"
