When a revered android philosopher's programmed teachings of peace spark a cosmic genocide, he must become an ultimate weapon of revenge against the sinister alien force that created him. Hark is currently in production as a 6-issue comic book mini-series, written and illustrated by Scott Reed (The Overman, Realm Of Kings: Son Of Hulk, Microverse: Enigma Force & Saga of A Doomed Universe).

My graphic novel Saga Of A Doomed Universe is back in print, as a collected edition on sale now at IndyPlanet!
This was a project that I had started in 2006, was put on hold when I was writing The Overman at Image a year later, restarted in 2008 & then back-burnered again in 2009 when I was hired at Marvel to write a bunch of Hulk-related books. I picked it up once more in 2011, determined to reshape it into a meta-contextual story that breaks the 4th wall, introduces a comic industry conspiracy involving govt experiments gone horribly wrong, while venting some of my own frustrations at the time about my comics career. I finished it as a 3-part mini-series called Saga Of A Doomed Universe in 2012. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did writing, drawing and publishing it. Thanks to IndyPlanet, whose print quality for this book has been absolutely excellent.
But wait, there’s more. Hark #1, my new comic, previously only available digitally via ComiXology is also now on sale as a print edition at IndyPlanet. I had planned to make the print edition available back in February, but then, well, you know.   SR

Hark issue #2 starts now! See the full cover over at www.patreon.com/beyondforwardcomics. I took a few weeks off, with the intent of getting several pages completed before I started posting them, but then life said, ‘nah’. So, with that in mind, I decided now is as good a time as any to get underway with this next chapter. I’m going to do my best to have a new page completed and posted every Wednesday, but considering all that’s going on with the pandemic, we’ll just have to take things a day at a time. Stay safe and healthy, everyone!

**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**
Tampa, Florida 01/22/20 – Scott Reed’s Beyond Forward Comics presents the first issue of an epic science fiction 6-issue mini-series, Hark. Reed is best known for his Image Comics mini-series The Overman, Marvel Comics Realm of Kings, Son Of Hulk, Microverse: Enigma Force and his meta-textual super-hero graphic novel, Saga Of A Doomed Universe. His new work, Hark, is poised to be a magnum opus that promises to yet again break new creative ground.
About Hark, Reed explains, “I’ve never attempted to write and draw something on this scale before. Hark has one of the most dramatic character arcs I’ve ever written, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. It’s the kind of story that should appeal to fans of Dune, 2001 and Terminator.” Hark is an android pacifist philosopher who converted a war-torn planet into a peaceful utopia. After solving all their problems, he went into sleep-mode, and then the entire civilization was bombed into the stone age by a mysterious alien force. Now, every civilization in the universe faces the same fate. Hark wakes up to learn of a terrible, hidden purpose behind his programming. He has no choice but to betray his teachings of peace, and everything he once stood for. Hark is the only one who can stop this horrifying cosmic genocide…because he’s the one who accidentally sparked it.
Hark #1 is now available for purchase from Comixology, at http://bit.ly/2supii2

My new original graphic novel, HARK, is now available exclusively at www.patreon.com/beyondforwardcomics. What does that mean, exactly? Well, for starters, I’m now maintaining this site as a free preview of the book, but I won’t be posting any new pages here. To get the latest page every Wednesday, in higher res detail, along with lots of other rewards, you can join for as little as $1 per month over at Patreon.
As you can imagine, writing, penciling, inking, coloring and lettering a comic book is a LOT of work. That’s not to mention all the design, editing and marketing involved in this endeavor. With that in mind, I know that most people don’t and shouldn’t care about that process. You just want a great comic to read, and with HARK, I’m doing my best to meet that criteria! Although I’m proud of my past works, I feel as though HARK is the culmination of all my years of toiling away in this medium. I’m bringing my A-game. But this means I have to find ways to monetize these efforts in some way. That’s where Patreon comes in. And that’s where you come in, old and new fans alike. So, if you like what you’ve seen here and want to have access to behind-the-scenes video works-in-progress, production blog updates, original digital art, plus the latest page of HARK, I’ve made it super easy to join.
Hope to see you there! SR

Page 2, which I realize is redundant with the site header, but I did color this page a little differently, as it’s a dream sequence. I’ll have a shiny new site header illustration ready at some point, but it’s low priority at the moment.  SR
