This has the perfect mix of modern and rustic. I like a kitchen where I'm not afraid to be messy, and where my guests can feel right at home.

Throw pillows add character to your home. Why not make one that has your own story? I think this tutorial makes it easy and doable. Thank you Jessica!

DIY jewelry display using vintage utensil tray and spools
I was so excited for this project. I've been on the lookout for old utensil tray and I found the perfect one! Here's a simple tutorial. =)
Things needed:
printed paper ( you can buy them at any craft store, with a wide variety of design)
spray adhesive
small screws
screwdriver
hooks
Steps:
Its so easy, you can do it too!
Measure the inside of the tray, cut the paper accordingly and lay it in. Sometimes it would be uneven in some areas so make sure you fit the paper first before spraying the adhesive.
After you have achieved a good fit, spray adhesive on the back side of the paper and carefully line the tray. Press on the bottom and along the sides.
If you can't find spools, you can use hooks that are found at walmart or craftstores. Choose the more vintage looking one.
When using spools, find the right spot on the tray where the spool is going to be attached. Apply the screw on the back of the tray just enough for tip to come out of the other side. Make a hole on the base of the spool. (I use a screw driver to achieve this). After, lay it on the tip of the screw and hold it place while you finish tightening on the other side.
And there you have it! You can lean it against the wall or hang it, simply buy some hardware for that, and then start digging out your accessories!
Have fun!

Fashionable Cook
Used fabric paint for pocket. Have to keep a steady hand.
I used a basic skirt pattern and CD disc for the scallops instead of printing the patterns. (There was just so many pages! ;p)

Excited to make more. =) Hurray for spring!
Original plan was just to use gold and black stones. But throwing in some oranges and pinks definitely perked this up. So happy with the results, and a happy recipient definitely makes the long hours hunched and twining wires worthwhile.

Cole Haan pumps that i bought for a superlow price! problem is, patterns aren't the same though structure and handiwork is really good.
So I'm thinking about putting some embellishments to give it a little oomph! ;D
maybe gold tipped or pink tipped? or maybe put some pearls?
would like to hear ideas from fellow fashionistas and crafters =)
