I kinda want to do a Strip for Stripe for danmei fandom 👀 since I'm too disabled to really do the calls myself

What is Strip for Stripe: one of those "like/rt to progress to the next drawing as we strip this character" games, but the like/rt numbers come from making calls and sending letters to payment processors, protesting their recent crack-down on NSFW art. This person said anyone can do their own

For me, it would have to be microfic, and I'd have to put a big disclaimer on it like "this is just for fun/encouragement, there's a possibility that I run out of energy and can't follow through." But it could be fun!

Which character should we strip, though? I would add Hualian to the poll, but it feels like that would be OOC (feel free to disagree and say why not). Vote for as many as you want!

To me, Hua Cheng and Xie Lian’s relationship always felt like relief. Relief that they finally have somewhere (someone) they belong. Somewhere to rest. Like they’ve both been on high alert for 800 years, never able to rest, never able to rely upon someone, to trust with their whole soul. And then suddenly, quiet. Peace. Relief.

Idk, that might be a very personal interpretation that nobody shares. But. That’s what it always felt like to me, first and foremost. This is why HuaLian is my ultimate comfort couple. Because they feel like coming home after a hard day and finally being able to just relax and place yourself in someone else’s hands, not only trusting but knowing they will never take advantage and always cherish it.

You know how in tgcf if a god harms mortals, they have to pay a certain amount of merits as a penalty - this is how Quan Yizhen gets away with beating up his followers regularly. Xie Lian obviously can't afford that throughout the novel.

So imagine that post-canon some mortal is running his mouth about HC (who's in disguise, of course) and XL can't let that go, so gives the mortal a piece of his mind. And then he's like "ah shit, now I have to pay X thousand merits for this, what a waste". The next thing he knows, the number of merits in his "account" tripled and HC is at his side saying something like "don't hold yourself back, Gege🥰". And after the incident HC makes sure that his husband always has some extra merits to spend on an occasional slap.

I think what I like so much about Hualian’s love is their profound respect for each other. They never try to change one another. They respect each other’s autonomy, choices, and conception of morality. The only time Hua Cheng ever tries to oppose Xie Lian is when he thinks Xie Lian is about to harm himself.

And that is just so precious and important.
