You can try all you want with some people. Go out of your way to talk to them. Be supportive and happy for them. Be nice and kind and generous. You can do everything right and some people just don't want that, they may be rude or unkind, but that is not your fault. You have every right to remove yourself from them knowing that you tried, you do not need to feel guilt from taking yourself away from someone who may upset you. You can talk to them about how they're feeling and maybe find a reason for why they act harshly despite your niceness, maybe that can fix things, but also things could not change. Don't be afraid to walk away from things that aren't good for you, even if you put a lot of time and effort into it. At the end of the day, we've got our whole lives ahead of us.
