I got bored and decided to put down some angst on discord so I'm sharing it here

Jonny had been dead, dead for years, maybe a decade or two, even, no one kept track anymore. It wasn't in their best interest to do so. It was still hard to accept he could've been gone forever in the first place.

On one hand, they knew he wanted to go, but on the other, he'd always wanted it to be on his own terms. They remembered clear as day how the bartender explained it when they came to collect him.

Tim thought it may have been the shock and surprise of him feeling himself die, Brian speculated that maybe, just *maybe* Jonny thought he would wake back up and it was just a stupid way to die. Marius and Ashes had seen the body, however. They were told the whereabouts and decided not to tell the crew they had even asked. The bullet was directly through that heart, that heart that always refused to stop beating, the heart that would never leave his body, the heart that his body would protect, and that circumstance would conveniently drift the bullet or stab wound or anything that would have kept him alive. Why hadn't those circumstances come then?

None of them had known, and none of them wanted to think of it, for everything happens for a reason, and if Jonny wanted to be dead, he'd be dead, that's just how it is, nothing could change that, and nothing will change, for the man they had once known to have little regard for his life and come out fine, had finally... Gone to rest.
