Some of Walt Simonson’s art from Michael Moorcock’s Multiverse, published by DC’s short-lived Helix imprint. I think it’s fairly safe to say this comic contained the wildest shit Simonson has ever done. He’s said in interviews that the hardest part was editing himself, because he could have drawn two or three times as much, going off of Moorcock’s scripts. Which kind of makes me want to fall at his feet and tearfully plead, “Why didn’t you?”

so the lesson here middies is, dont kill the jocks, just brain them a bit. knock en sensefull!
A man who was attacked and beaten outside of a bar turned into a math genius. Jason Padgett was once a jock who never made it past pre-algebra, but after the injury he started seeing the world in pixelated, geometric shapes, understood the concept of pi, and had a sudden ability to hand-draw complex fractals. Promethea
For the curious spiritualist who enjoys the comic book format.
One of the most original series you could ever ask to read, Promethea follows college student Sophie Bangs in a slightly futuristic, slightly alternative reality version of late 90s New York City. Sohpie’s life takes a drastic turn when she realizes she is the channel of Promethea, an entity as old as time who is not a goddess, but, rather, the embodiment of imagination itself. It also covers a very interesting time period in America, culturally, politically and spiritually, having being written and released between 1999 and 2005. Not a very safe time to have a big imagination. Yet, as this book proves, all times are important to both have it and use it. And anyone can.
Alan Moore is a master writer and researcher who revolutionized the comic medium by taking on a deeper and more human approach to how characters and stories dealing with the fantastic are told. He also went on to become an accomplished magician and shamanistic practitioner. This series is bursting with such information. One could call this his take on what reality, magick and thought itself really are. We all are entitled to our take on these things; he’s been generous with his. To share spiritual information without preaching or condemning. Now that takes imagination.
