@captastrophe asked:
👾 ; "What kind of suicidal moron would get in a 35-meter weaponized metal suit?" (from Urahara!)
-- "IT'S NOT SUICIDAL, IT'S MANLY!!!" The hulking man protested on immediate cue.
Trucks. Big wheels. Heavy machinery. Laser beams. Robots, and giants. All unique in their own right but widely popular with boys and men alike, not quite assigned Manliness as a set trait - but given a clear-cut 'cool' label. If given the opportunity, few Men wouldn't jump the gun.
In the immediate instance - true to his self and proud of it, Elfman immediately made his intentions known. A gargantuan heavy suit made of metal? Sign him right up. "How can you look at a giant metal suit and not get excited!? How can you call yourself a Man like that!!?" He totally overlooked the 'moron' part though.
There was no buck to gain by the metaphorical scenario. There was no deep advancement to be made about the meaning behind 'being a real Man', either. In truth, there was absolutely no special merit beyond the obvious, to the scenario presented. ...It was just plain cool. And sometimes, all a Man really needs, is cool.

The revelation was, most surprising.
Truth is, the information wasn't widespread just yet. It was by mere chance that Elfman came across the card, as it was in its starting phases, before their Master decided to do anything with it. The two words 'Dragon Slayer', often the talk of the Guild on occasion, jumped up; and there he was, taking a quick read into it. Of course, how he got that information didn't matter, even if Laki came under a false impression.
One thing at a time then.
Surprise, clear on his face; Elfman startled, taking an instinctive step back at the affirmation. "You mean-- You are!!?" If he had a cup in hand, it would be thrown away.

Discretion wasn't the large man's strong suit, and she probably knew that. Laki possibly made peace with simply sharing information that was already out to the public (to her perspective), taking the hulk's reaction into account. Elfman, however, didn't; and was quick to follow with an almost instinctive, forceful and physical shut of his mouth - both hands moving to cup over his lips.
"...For how long...!?" He asked, slightly bending towards the purple-haired with just as much surprise, but a rare whispering tinge to his tone. "Y'don't mean it's been like that from the beginning, right!?"
Upon hearing the question, Laki hesitated, only for the briefest moment, as the tea in her cup gave the slightest quiver. She set it carefully onto its saucer and released a soft, measured sigh.
"I was not aware that Master Makarov had already disseminated the information via the interguild bulletin. I had requested that he delay the announcement until I had, at the very least, grasped the fundamentals... Alas."
She raised her eyes to meet her guildmate’s, a faint but sincere smile forming, tinged with apology.
The matter was still quite recent; she could distinctly feel the spot where the lacrima had been implanted. The pain, though no longer sharp, lingered with a quiet persistence. She had yet to acquire a true affinity for her element, though the thought of tasting a fresh branch had, on occasion, crossed her mind.
"I offer my apologies. I had intended to share that information with those who might find it interesting, in due course."

-- Okay, perhaps he may have been a tad gullible. If just the giant hole in the wall wasn't enough of a takeaway, which could probably still convince some people (his sisters in particular), the large pile of lumber he carried on his person was probably a strong giveaway.
"Shut up!" Gray's sarcasm was warranted, but not welcome. Though it was clear to both that the silly comment was meant as a jab, despite everything, Elfman did feel bad about creating new, uh. Feature.

For that reason, a furrow formed on his face as he squinted, turning to the large hole and dropping his wooden pieces to the floor. "No, this is a Man's problem and a Man's gotta fix it!!" He demanded.
"I just gotta fill this gap before anyone else sees, right? That's easy!" Even though he lacks nails. Or a hammer. Or any tools to fix that.
@biisutoarm asked: I didn't think anyone would notice...
The look Gray gave Elfman could really only be described as unconvinced. He knew how easy it was for things to slip through the cracks or go unnoticed in the guild ( it's quite literally how he managed to get away with so much shit ) but even he knew where to draw the line. And this ? Absolutely one of those instances.
❝ Oh totally. Absolutely no one was going to notice the new guild feature which is one of the windows is suddenly a lot bigger than it was yesterday.
The sarcasm was heavy from the ice mage as he gestured toward said gaping hole, clearly trying to hold back a laugh at the other's expense. Shaking his head to hopefully dispel his amusement , he turned back to Elfman and shrugged.
❝ Just do what we all do if master questions anything : blame Natsu. Always worked for me.

What was he supposed to do, really? The Manly thing of course, would be to simply take her and leave, prying her away from the eyes of the crowd -- but be that as it may, Elfman wasn't quite in the right mindset to do just that. It would also dawn on him much later, that this is what he'd ought to do.
But he's seen something amazing today.
Taken by the hand (more like two fingers with how much larger his hand was than hers), the large man was pulled away and forced to run with the girl -- his other hand at his nose, holding at his bridge to prevent further bloodloss.
... ...
Once sufficient distance was taken -- enough to separate from the crowd's eyes (though possibly not enough to not establish her as the talk of town for the day), Elfman took a moment to catch his breath. "That... That was a Man!!" He said, mustering a solid and decisive thumbs-up in his excitement.
Again, probably not the best course of action, but. Certainly an experience to remember.
Lucy was relieved to see him come to, only for him to have a nosebleed and stumble back. The blonde blinked, see a crowd gather around then. It was then that he mentioned her top, and Lucy's eyes widened as her heart sank. She had a feeling now on what had happened.
Looking down to see her chest exposed only confirmed her fears, and the blonde screamed for a second as she's hands pulled her top back on to cover her well endowed chest.
Once she knew she was good, she quickly stood and grabbed Elfman's hand, and helped tug the much bigger man up. "Hurry! Let's get out of here!"
She was already getting over it quickly. It wasn't exactly uncommon for one member of Fairy Tail to see the other in an exposed state. Especially from her team...

The certain qualities a man processes plays into how masculine he is rated to be. The way he portrays himself in his looks, actions and everyday life paints a bigger picture for the type of male he is. Hegemonic masculinity is the idea of men being POWERFUL, STRONG and DOMINANT. @mcmiji; ask cont.
Admittedly, The Beast (Origin) didn't enjoy being covered in dirt, innards and mud. His noble background, coupled with a timid and defeated personality, made him more of a compulsive cleaner than the monster most would take him to be. The main obstacle in the way, was The Beast (Elfman), and his will to push through. And at that time, it was clearly the latter who set the patterns.
"No, Master!!" He protested, dipping himself entirely in the river's thankfully wide-enough lot; "Bein' a Man's all about goin' forward!! We don't have the time to catch a break!!" The Beast further preached, wiping off grime of all sorts away from his furry anterior.
Despite his monstrous demeanor, his manner of cleaning himself was factually masterful. Definitely rushed, and rugged in his movements - especially considering his size left little room to wiggle through the area he was allowed; but, evidence of The Beast (Origin)'s roots were clear in his meticulous scrubbing.
Truth is, The Beast (Elfman) didn't pay it much mind. If he was better at cleansing himself, so be it. So long as it doesn't eat away too much of his time. That said - the dissonance between his inherited habits and his summoned class, should definitely leave some room for humor.
"The sooner we're outta here, the better!! But if you wanna take a break, just leave the rest to a Man."
#mcmiji#v: berserker; the beast [(fate)]#i somehow knew you would lol#I'll take it!! I love writing Beast Elfman!

@madnessroleplay; ask cont.
It took a moment for him to get back to.
Unbeknownst to the blond, her top almost completely fell off. Something most (barring maybe Gray), would probably notice off the bat, but. Alas. It appears making sure her friend was fine took precedence over personal awareness.
As he once again jotted back, Elfman came to see the other breast, also greeting him in a bold sight. On cue, yet another burst of blood shot to his face, the man wholly unprepared for the view; despite the first accident preluding to the second. Fact is, he couldn't ignore the obvious arousal creeping up on him as well.
-- But. "Grr...!! LUCY!!!" Shutting his eyes immediately, he frantically backed away -- flailing some as the scene around them unfolded further; onlookers unable to ignore the bare-skinned lady, much as Elfman couldn't. "YOUR TOP!!!" He yelled out, blocking his own eyes with both his hands;
...Though, leaving a clear and obvious crevice as a singular eye remained locked in on the lady's exposure. Call it a powerful instinct, if you must.

◔ A public wardrobe malfunction to Lucy. (Madnessroleplay )
@madnessroleplay | Boobs Meme
Yep. Fairy Tail definitely had an abundance of voluptuous women, to stay on topic.
It looked at first, off the bat, like something was wrong with her getup; though, he wasn't quite perceptive enough to tell in minute detail, what about it felt off. It wasn't in Elfman's business, though the comment still slipped him that 'something' Lucy wore that day, was "a Man". Though vague as it probably came off for the blond, there was no mind paid to it.
A short stroll through Magnolia, a good distance away from the Guild - mostly because of a quick errand one of them needed to undertake; the other, simply tagging along.
The structure of the town wasn't so high, not so complicated. Buildings were kept simple, as to maximize local business options while optimizing living standards and quarters for the masses. Whether or not this was a deliberate decision by the King, mattered little in light of how easy the town seemed.
But even in this relatively safe town, the high citizen count meant these things could happen every now and then.
A sudden pot dropped from the third floor, sure to damage anyone passing by, happened to fall right as Lucy came into its way. --In a frantically rushed way, Elfman swooped in to push the girl out the way; using his body as cover, effectively causing her to drop to the floor in an abrupt movement, while also taking the smack to the top of his head -- causing him to topple over, falling down.
...When he came to, an-- interesting sight was displayed before him.
The commotion garnered onlookers, but the aftermath is what truly caught the public's eye. Coming to barely, Elfman's head throbbed in pain as he winced, looking to check if Lucy was okay --
Only to burst in a sudden nosebleeding stream; causing his head to jerk back and, hit the pavement once again.

"MAN-- Gah!!!..."
Let's call it an easy wardrobe malfunction. Lucy's bosom slipped out of the built-in crevice in her shirt, her left side on outer display; the right, also threatening to pull out of its confines.
At least now Elfman could pinpoint what about Lucy's attire, he found odd. Either it shrunk in laundry, she got thinner, or the top was plain risky as it is -- but a slip like that isn't something you easily forget.
