6th Grade Superhero Project!

Each year I come up with a new theme and two examples. This year's theme is "Job and Sweets".

For my English classes, I make character-theme unit magnets. Last year, I made a bunch of Sanrio's Sumikko Gurashi unit magnets, so this year I am filling in the gaps with Jump characters. These magnets are for the 'Sibling/Family' unit, 'Activities' unit, and 'Food' unit. Of course, these are WIPs, but I always love how weird my WIPs look when I put the base colors down.

Edit: I AM FINISHED! With a snap of a finger, the world is made right! My magnets are colored and ready to laminate!

6th grade project. They are to create superheroes using animals and fruits as the themes.

Valen Bearguy. Because I can. A quick build and first time custom-esque paint job. The paint job was done with Gundam paint pens, so there was very little line control. Here's to more Gunpla fun!

There's an artist named Qinni, whose art I am absolutely loving. Styling off of one of Qinni's watercolor paintings, I tried my hand at the galaxy face design using Akashiya Japanese Traditional Colors watercolor pens. Thank you, Qinni, for your beautiful art!

Today's prompt was 'crooked'. Sadly, my first thought was a crooked Mario. This was my ink doodle.

Though my hometown is fairly far from Las Vegas, it has been heavily impacted by the Route 91 shooting. Living abroad at a time like this is very difficult. Please pray for all who have been affected by this tragedy. I hope that everyone can see the hope at the end of this very dark, rocky road ahead.

These were presents I inked up for my 6th graders this year. In a week, I inked 27 post card-sized illustrations, on top of finishing 15 other post card-sized colored illustrations. Sadly, due to time and the inclusion of my students` names in the illustrations, I do not have scans of the 15 colored illustrations. For these drawings, I experimented with brush inking and combining it with dip pen illustrations. In this batch, I have Yoshi and the Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V crew. The Arc-V line up is (from left to right) Yugo, Yuto, Yuya Sakaki (main character), and Yuri.

In this post, I have Pooh Bear, the Red Baron Snoopy, Doraemon, and one of the comedians from a Japanese group called Trendy Angel, as well as an illustration of Mike, Minnie Mouse, and Mickey Mouse trying to build Olaf.
