He comes this close to make some uncomfortable impact play joke but for the sake of familial bonds he simply settles for: "I could never, darling." And when Shifty replies with the Ofc u couldnt bc id KILL you (threat display), Wari'to does that (sucking his lips into his mouth bc he's trying rly rly hard not to laugh) thing and then he's snickering, and then he starts laughing so so hard that his forehead kinda splits in two but instead of opening his third eye is kind of stuck with its nasty third eyelid and the room gets bigger and smaller at the same time and wari'to's laughter hits the infrasound and he makes a silly ugly gigglesnort and suddenly everything is normal again and there's some goop on the corner of his mouth? he says, with full seriousness: "If it ever comes to that, I wholly expect you to do so."

A display to show Shifty there's nothing they could possibly do to hurt him and it's downright adorable that he thinks he can? Or a headsup to ensure Shifty knows the kind of contingency plans he has to come up with? Who knows! Wari'to then goes GOOD TALK =:-) (shoulder pat, shakes shifty's hand(claw? pincer?)) and leaves.

HEEHEE..... feel my disease. I like this..... Shifty has super mixed feelings about seeing wari'to transform. On one hand, that's a monster fucking his uncledad. On the other, when wari'to gives him That Look, shifty immediately understands what's being asked. Because they've been there. It's not their secret to tell. If anything it probably encourages them to be a little more empathetic toward wari'to. I don't doubt there's a fear that they'll hold it over ri'to's head since Nicky has been so hostile to him, but they never actually do anything about it except sometimes Look at him. The most they would do, if they were able to get ri'to alone, is ask him very bluntly if he intends to hurt Stan. And when the answer is obviously no, Shifty says good. Bc otherwise I'll kill you. And they let Themselves show a little bit. Pincer-fangs curling out. Just enough to say "hey, I'm like you. There's something terrible under my skin, too. I'm trusting you to keep that secret like I'm keeping yours." while also giving ri'to a shovel talk LOL
