It wasn’t open that Bruce’s gravely tones gave way like that, and Diana was determined to remember that. 

“Hmm…” She nuzzled her hand against his cheek before kissing him softly. “Cute Bat…” 

Bruce has been through hell and back. He was prepared for so many things. Yet, he had fallen short in this moment. Diana had him caught off guard, but it still felt too sudden. Perhaps having a villain that is known for basically Lust Powders has made him slightly paranoid.

He shifted back, eyes narrowed just so, searching her face. He needs space to clear his head, to redefine his focus.

“Diana” Bruce hated the slight catch on her name. Far from a commanding tone that he aimed for. It was truly his own fault, he was sure of that at least. He had fallen too close, caught up in the sun that was her smile. He made it too obvious and now they were at the precipice. 

He lost the hold he had so carefully maintained. Her hands on him, freezing him to the very depths of his being.

  “What did I do?” the engineer fakes innocence while bating his lashes, his knowing grin giving away the whole act. Oh, Tony’s not sorry in the least. He smooths down Bruce’s tie with an all too mischievous smirk. “If it were up to me, personally,” his gaze falls to the other billionaire’s lips as he yanks on Bruce’s tie, pulling him closer, lips just barely brushing, “I’d prefer the former.”

Frustrating. The easiest adjective Bruce could come up with for Tony in the moment. The annoyance tangled along his shoulders, tensed just so. Bruce maintained his slow and even breaths as his tie was smoothed only to be crinkled once more at that Yank. 

“Then we’d be further from focus than now.” he reminded, one hand rested at his waist, fingers splayed wide. Perhaps Batman wouldn’t give in, he would hold himself to a higher level. Bruce, however, leaned in just a moment. Their lips met with more intention, a confident brush of lips to lips. Then he pulled away, clearing his throat as he straightens his tie.
