if you thought scaramouche was protective before... you're in for a delightful wake up call — scara isn't the best with emotions (as we've discussed) so he's not the best with the whole soft protective kind of style

when he notices that you bruise more easily then others, get hurt more severely then what you technically should have, or catches colds after only minutes in cold weather, he gets quite (protectively) aggressive at the new information

scara holds your wellbeing at the same height as he holds his own (not that he would ever admit that to anyone) so he's serious when it comes to taking care of you — i literally mean he tries to bench you whenever you want to go outside, he has three meals a day for you to make sure that you're healthy in the other aspects, and he carries around tons of bandages and medications for you

picture a scaramouche with a fanny pack full of care items as he checks over you daily to make sure a new injury didn't pop up, and as he checks your temperature hourly to see if you happened to catch a bug

he's overbearing an aggressive at times, but he does it with good intent — and plus, that's his own odd way of saying "you mean a lot to me, so stay healthy."

anything you need you will have — if you need to get a special (and impossibly rare and expensive) medicine to help increase your immune system, you can bet your bottom dollar that baal would do it

another scara in a way, baal (or ei) isn't the best with her words, so she shows her love and care through actions — said actions often being expensive gift giving or even her babying/nursing you back to health

her staff know to immediately alert her no matter what if something were to happen to you — a small bruise, cut, sneeze, and all — anything and everything is important for her to know so she can gather the things she needs properly to tend to you

you would kind of be like rapunzal in a way — locked away in her palace yet given anything and everything you could possible need to live comfortably — baal know's how dangerous the outside world is, and with your bodies state being as it is, she would rather keep you far away from it

baal is the absolute queen for soft touches — (if you have longer hair) baal combs through it with care, trying not to pull to hard nor cause any harm — her hands would brush gently over marks before she would press a tentative kiss over top of it

but on a serious note, diluc would definitely be the most chill of the bunch of them while still remaining fiercely protective of your and your fragile state

his eyes are constantly darting around and making sure that no external harm could come to you unless you somehow found a way to trip yourself up on the cobblestone streets of mondstadt, and he always has sanitary products either on his person or at the manor

diluc make's sure that any germs that could cause you to become ill are wiped away before they can actually do any harm — he moves at the speed of light if he sees a situation that would automatically result in you running a fever or cold

your health comes first in his eyes, so prepared to be babied if you do catch something or happen to injure yourself — maid diluc is in the house

diluc would quite literally sweep, mop, and polish the floor your stand on if it meant the sickness would go away — he's constantly tending to you either with food, a cold cloth on your forehead, or a fresh role of bandages over a cut

#scaramouche, how do you love?

—relationship headcanons, basically:)

NOTES. this won’t have spoilers don’t worry! just me indulging myself with my scara brainrot. i hope you enjoy this~

Love at first sight were not the proper words to describe it, more like he felt that you would be bad news to him someday and he most likely kept an eye on you for quite some time to see if you weren’t going to do something that could hinder his plan.

When he falls in love, it’s slow, hindering, and careful. He wants to make sure that this is really what he wants, and even what you want. When his care for you reaches that point, he knows he doesn’t want to force you into falling for him as well if you don’t feel the same.

Now the moment he knows that you’re attracted to him, or that he already feels that you are, then he’s not afraid of making a move on you. Why would he? He’s a Harbinger of course, he can woo you even more much better than anyone, surely. Must he worry that you won’t be affected by his… affections?

“You’re sitting so far away, scoot closer,” he flushed as he said those words, realizing the vulnerability that he just showed you yet again. Though with the giggle that you let out and the way you shift in your seat just as he had demanded, he merely clears his throat and says, “Good, now isn’t that far better?”

When you two start dating everyone, literally everyone knows or has a feeling about it. This is not because he said it or that it’s even obvious when you two are together because he’s fairly busy too, but it’s because of him. He just radiates this aura that he will absolutely ignore everyone when he’s with you and whenever someone else does, he’s already glaring and snappy at them—even Signora and the other Harbingers had caught up to this.

Actually, even if he tries to hide it—both of you did, others will sense it nonetheless.

Plus he talks differently with you. Something about the way he acts, moves, leans, and smiles at you is very different. No hint of malice, deceit, anger, nothing. It will not even be a surprise if it’s his lackeys or Childe who notices first—Childe is quite perceptive after all.

Despite having little to no time together, you two make it work. If you’re a civilian, he visits you when he has time, but it’s actually easier if you’re part of the Fatui—but either way has its own pros and cons that I won’t elaborate further.

He doesn’t initiate kisses. What a joke. No, SCARAMOUCHE does initiate kisses with you. When it’s in public, it might mean he’s jealous—what? Jealous? Pft—or that he was merely teasing you—he has a habit of doing that when he’s in the mood.

But in private, this is actually when he feels more inclined to do so—or that he’s just aching to kiss you, most especially after being away from you for so long. His kisses are rough mostly, initially. But as it progresses, most of the time it slows down and he’s sensually pulling you into bliss and his desires.

Actually, he seems like the type who kisses based on his mood, but it’s just that likely he starts rough which eventually becomes slower and more passionate.

He also has this thing that when he wants to kiss you he’ll deliberately place his fingers on your chin and wait for you to turn to him before he slowly leans and presses his lips on you, mending them like puzzle pieces meant for each other.

He’s also a very honest person—to people he trust. No matter how harsh something is, he says things truthfully and honestly. Yes, he’s deceitful to his enemies but when he has someone he truthfully trusts, which I think where you would come in because he doesn’t seem to be the type of person who would commit in a long-term relationship at the very most.

He’s not very vocal with sweet words, and he’s quite harsh when he talks, but he will never be rough with you through his actions. His touches are always soft, secure, sometimes even too light to think that he was taking good care of you like fine glass. He can initiate physical affection but he doesn’t really openly hug or hold your hand, etc when in public.

“Can I hold your hand, Scara?”

He turns to look at you and for a moment, the others around them thought he’ll outright reject you there and there, but he reaches out for your hand without another word and continues on walking. “No need to ask for it, you know.”

People are actually surprised by your dynamic, but every time they stay and watch they’ll just get glares from him,

“What are you staring at? Move it, didn’t I give you a job to do?” then when they walk away, he’d continue eyeing them while gently caressing your hair as you were sleeping soundly on his lap.

He’s actually pretty sweet when he wants to. His love language is definitely Physical Touch or Giving Gifts. When you two are apart he makes it up for you by giving you a gift or if not, it’s mostly letting you hug him or cuddle him… but don’t ever tease him or let others know about it, especially a certain ginger or his lackeys.

He also has a belief that your relationship is practically superior to others, just a note there hahah.

When he has no work—which is quite rare, he prefers staying beside you. He likes it when you cuddle beside him or you cuddle him!

His favorite times with you are when you pamper him. He’s NEVER going to admit to this because he doesn’t realize it as well but he loves it when you take off his hat and caress his head or comb his hair while he rants about his fellow Harbingers and lackeys, or when you initiate to hug him or kiss him the moment you see him, or even when you whisper “I love you”s in his ear as you sit under a tree slightly far away from the camp.

Now he doesn’t say those three words that often, but whenever he does, it’s real and you’ll sense it in his voice and the emotions in his eyes.

He looks down and lets out, “I love you too,” he then raises his eyes and feels his face and chest warm up meeting your gaze, his jaw clenching at the hesitance of showing such a vulnerable side of him. Then, he looks away once again, pursing his lips before saying, “Keep that in mind, will you? I don’t just say this to anyone so-so you better remember it, got that?”

As a celebration that this fucker is finally returning into genshin I wanted to write some headcanons for him. Hopefully you all like them!

Having a secret relationship with Scaramouche

Due to his position as a Fatui Harbinger he wanted to keep his relationship with you a secret.

Firstly because he had a certain image to uphold, but secondly (and more important to him) to keep you safe.

Scaramouche has many enemies and if they found out that you were his partner he was afraid of what they would do.

So all of your dates were in places where you knew no one would disturb you.

Many of your dates were the two of you cooking together, or rather you were teaching him how to cook since he had no idea how to do it.

Even if your relationship is not public, Scaramouche is not the most affectionate guy.

He prefers roughly making out over gently kissing and holding you while professing his love to you.

Speaking of making out, he loves to pin you against things while you do so, it gives him a power rush.

His main love language is quality time so for him it's enough to just be close with you as you do your own things.

After an extra stressful day at work though he needs you close to him.

Scaramouche will just quietly wrap his arms around you and pull you close without saying a word, but after being with him for a while you know that this means he needs some comfort from you.

And you provide him that without saying a word.

But with a nosy coworker like Childe it was rather hard to keep something a secret.

Especially when one day you two were making out in Scaramouches home, he had you pressed against a table when suddenly a certain ginger appeared, begging your boyfriend to spar with him.

As soon as you heard Childe's voice the two of you broke apart hoping that he didn't see anything but it already was too late.

Before Childe could say anything, Scaramouche had already pulled him into another room by his ear telling him to better keep quiet or he'd make sure that the Fatui would need a new 11th Harbinger.

Childe knew when the 6th Harbinger was being extra serious and this was one of those times so he promised him to keep quiet.

But both you and Scara knew that if he was alone with either of you he'd tease you about your relationship.

Author’s Note: The 2.1 live stream is happening in a few hours, and I’m just here praying for a shred of Scaramouche content while stewing in my own headcanons.

You call him “Scara” in front of his subordinates, and it annoys him to no end.

The other fatui agents were only ever known to refer to Scaramouche as milord, the Harbingers’ number six, or even the Balladeer. So the fact that you would shorten his name and call for him in such a singsong voice has the rest of his subordinates fearing for your life.

Behind closed doors, Scaramouche lectures you about your lack of respect but this does nothing to stop you.

He eventually gives up and settles for glaring at you whenever you would refer to him so affectionately.

La Signora and Childe overhears you calling him “Scara” at one point, and they teasingly refer to him by this when they want to get a rise out of him.

His reaction to this?

Very, very frightening.

a/n: bumped this up bc scaramouche!! yes i play favourites what about it

you’re not sure why but you find yourself at scaramouche’s doorstep. nose red and runny while tears continue to leak from your eyes.

it’s strange that out of all places, you choose to go to the person you’ve made an enemy out of. yet, he’s the only one you have left.

when scaramouche answers the door, you’re taken aback by his casual appearance. the lack of his eye-catching hat surprises you but it’s his eyes that strikes a chord within you. it is familiar as it is unchanging.

“what do you want?” scaramouche snarls, “if it’s a fight you want, it can wait till tomorrow.”

you shake your head in response.

you remain quiet as scaramouche studies your appearance. his cold gaze sliding across your features with nonchalance as he assesses your current state.

“trouble in paradise? or did you so called ‘friends’ turn on you again?” he sneers as he crosses his arms.

a sniffle escapes as scara hits the nail on the head.

eventually, a sniffle turn into two and a tear is falling from your lashes and you end up falling to your knees and bawling your eyes out in front of a panicked scaramouche.

“h-hey?” his voice is filled with uncertainty a s he unfolds his arms, hands hovering in the air, unsure if it’d be alright to touch you.

you ignore his words and continue to cry, letting go of your rationality as you drain the last of the bubbling negativity in your chest.

by the time you’ve recovered, emotionally spent and eyes swollen from crying, you finally become aware of the warm hand on your back.

“feeling better?” the purple-haired man asks in a bored tone. yet, he continues to pat your back rhythmically.

you croak out an intelligible response to which scaramouche heaves a heavy sighs.

“isn’t it fine to just leave them be? if you conform to the version of you that they want you to be, you’ll just be pretending to be someone you’re not.”

you nod slowly as you take in his words.

“be you, no one else can,” scaramouche states firmly.

his hand which has stopped patting your back acts like an anchor, grounding you as you pick yourself up piece by piece.

“you’re right,” you reply, barely a whisper.

“of course i am,” scaramouche smirks. “if you’re feeling better already go home, i need to sleep.” he adds.

a chuckle escapes your lips, genuine and airy.
