Would it be weird or unusual if one twin was named Soleil (means sun in French)? Considering their home is called Sol Station 😅

I love this word and I choose it often as the name for my MCs.

Not at all! In fact, the pre-selected names I plan to put in for players to choose from if they don't want to make up their own are all "sun" and "moon" names from different languages hahaha.

Their parent was an astronomy nerd so it would make sense for them to use this in their naming conventions, too. :P

P.S. Soleil is a lovely name! I'm partial to Soledad and Solveig, as well. So many good sun names. :)

Did the twins have a good relationship during childhood and adolescence (were they close, got along, etc.)? Or will it depend on the player?

They got along and had a positive relationship, but the player can decide just how close they were -- as well as how the Moon Twin feels about the Sun Twin's sudden departure and whether it puts a damper on their relationship.

Are you also working on Binary Stars or are you currently focused entirely on Bethroned?

I'm working on both, but haven't done much coding work for Binary Stars -- it's mostly been world-building, planning, and mapping.

I feel more demand for Bethroned right now so for a while it was my focus, but I tend to go where I feel inspiration hit so I can take advantage of it, if that makes sense!

I had to ask 😅 As sci-fi fan I'm more excited about this IF than Bethroned

How old are MCs and Seren?

Seren is the same age as the MCs. Their age is no younger than 28 (they were at least 18 when MCs' parent died) and no older than 34 (they were under 25 when their parent died). The specifics are up to player headcanons.

Who was their parent? 🤔 Some kind of politician?

The twins were raised by a single parent (they/them) who also birthed them via a donor and IVF. (The player can choose their name.) They weren't a politician, but they were a community leader and a medical doctor heavily involved in grassroots campaigns that advocated for social programs such as universal healthcare and universal basic income.

Pretty good reason to hate Sol. Moon Twin did not share these feelings?

They absolutely do, they just have a different approach. While Sun Twin decided to leave their home, Moon Twin initially wants to change their home from within and continue the work their parent started.

I can't wait to find out more about the twins and Seren!

They'd grown pretty disillusioned with the effects of tyranny of the majority -- an unfortunate manifestation of the type of direct democracy practiced on Sol Station.

The loss of their parent was the catalyst for them. The twins' parent was diagnosed with a rare terminal illness that has a simple but expensive treatment. Sol Station's residents voted against a measure that would allocate taxes towards financing the treatment for any citizens affected. Many voters thought it would be a frivolous waste due to the rarity of the condition.
