You know what, this tumblr page of ours isn’t going to get activity at all if we don’t, you know, POST SOMETHING.
Here’s our 250th episode, celebrating over six years of random geekiness. How did we want to celebrate? By cramming an episode full of things we love! Listen in as we go through a random collection of podcasts, books, comic books, TV and movies that make us happy, in absolutely no kind of order, trying to fit in as many as we can before the alarm on the timer startles the hell out of us.

If there’s a theme to my artwork it seems to be “Ooo, I’ll bet I could make something interesting out of this!” Materials used in making my steampunk jewelry include clock gears and cogs, glass bottles, empty watch casings, and layers of polished fine woods like walnut, maple, osage orange, and plywood.
Many of my pieces can be found for sale at my etsy account, https://www.etsy.com/shop/fandragon/ .

My favorite medium is wood, and of course old watch parts. I’ll sometimes branch out to bottles and shells, like the tiny two-inch wide cabinet I made for the “From the Cities of Gears and Spice” piece. And the ebony and ivory pendants and earrings in this gallery were made from actual ebony and ivory piano keys.
The Totems and Bottle Pendant are something new, since the start of social isolating, actually. With all the obsessing about toilet paper and hand soap, it occurred to me that some items become worth their weight in gold. So why not make jewelry out of them?
Many of my pieces can be found at my etsy account, https://www.etsy.com/shop/fandragon/ Send me a PM if you’d like to buy any of the ivory pieces; Etsy has a strict rule about no ivory for sale on their site.

This gallery features a whole random assortment of items, some of which I probably held onto for YEARS before I found a use for them. Shells. Watch faces. A tiny bottle of semi-precious stones and another bottle of random watch screws bolted to a slice of birch wood. The reel from a an old typewriter ribbon (but not actual typewriter keys; the ones on the choker are made from tiny plumbing o-rings. I’ll break apart tons of old ladies watches that no one wants anymore, but I draw the line at smashing up a typewriter)
Many of my pieces can be found on my Etsy store at https://www.etsy.com/shop/fandragon/

One of my favorite holiday traditions is making the annual Transformer-Getting-Clobbered-By-Holiday-Object gif. Here’s the full run so far.

The Friday the 13th the Series love continues with a whole episode dedicated to the show, complete with a ridiculous alarm that goes off when we’ve talked long enough about any one episode.

When I picked up a copy of Alyse Wax's book “Curious Goods - Behind the Scenes of Friday the 13th: The Series”, I expected an episode list, maybe with a rundown of writers, directors, and guest stars. But what I got was exactly what I want out of a fan book: a lovingly-detailed summary of all 72 episodes, plus interviews, photos, and tons of fascinating details about the background of the show and what went on during the making of each episode.

This month is the 30 year anniversary of the first episode (well, September 28 if you're looking at imdb, October 3 if you're looking, um, anywhere else.) In celebration, Binary System Podcasts presents a gallery of ads, promo shots, and a pile of screen grabs, because we're still completely obsessed. What started out as a plan to grab snaps of 80s costumes, action shots, amazing hair, and goofy villains, quickly spiraled into getting all the evidence that Micki and Ryan were meant for each other.
