it's been almost a month since the semester ended, and i've been letting myself rest and recharge by doing my favorite things before starting my internship at the end of the month.

for so much of my life, i have been the type of person who struggles to take breaks because i feel like i constantly have to be doing something/speed running towards some goal, but this academic year was hard on me; it opened up past wounds and created new ones, and i realized that i have to let myself rest without guilt if i want to heal. so i've been reading and knitting and learning to crochet; i visited a pretty library in a monastery, explored local yarn shops, and hung out with my cat. i am growing stronger and happier with each passing day, and for that i am grateful.

Managed 12:30-6pm at my favorite library today. The coffee was disgusting but it did its job! I had a brownie with it which was lovely. Wearing my ear defenders for hours didn't bother me at all, they're very comfortable. I'm tired, but satisfied.

Lately I can’t stop reading, thinking, obsessing, about love. As a theoretical exercise: what is this thing which has no intention, no obvious purpose, no end towards which a process inevitably, predictably unfolds? A feeling which, like all aesthetic experience, is not general – it is particular to each instance, originating out of a singular sensational body, evoking a response which betrays pleasure and displeasure, desire, want, colour. What is the house that love built made of, made for? I don’t think I make sense about half of the time in my writing but I can’t stop circling back to this idea at the moment, maybe there’s something in it that I haven’t yet connected up in my mind

started on the new book and got in two chapters

finished a chapter for another book for my research

it rained the entire day and the temperature dropped ever so slightly but i took that as a sign to bring out my sweaters. came home to a package i got gifted earlier last week and i absolutely love the blue patterns!

i’ve been trying to catch up on my last readings of the year but this week has been crazy at work, can’t wait for tomorrow so i can spend the whole day in bed reading, happy holidays to everyone.

It’s been a long time since I posted here and it’s mostly because I’m still waiting for an interview invite. I haven’t had any so far and the waiting is difficult. Hopefully I’ll get an interview soon. In the meantime I’m still working as a medical scribe to gain experience and trying to use my free time productively.

I’m also ~40% into the second book of the poppy war trilogy and i love it so much?? like the book is huge but you just can’t stop reading it!

18.10.21// a really busy day! i’ve managed to finish the powerpoint for the upcoming conference, practice norwegian and send out few e-mails before heading off to uni. afterwards, i got few books from the library and went back home to revise notes, prepare my own classes and do some phd research :)!

August 24, 2021 [74/100] :: I don't think my desk will ever be clean again until I hand in my thesis. My friend from Sydney commented in our zoom session how crazy she thinks it is that we (other friend and I and all students here, really) write our theses in English, i.e. a non-native language, and that we should get credit for that. I continued writing a piece for my methods sections for which I made these artsy beautiful plots and I hope my PI will like them without offering ideas of what else to do with them. :')
