Mental health day: #Suicide is complex. Mental health awareness has increased through media campaigns, which is helpful in reducing #stigma but it's still not enough. Suicide is complex. In order to truly reduce suicide rates, we all need to practice #mindfulness and being less judgemental. A healthy society is built on principles of social inclusion and connectedness. We can all help working towards this goal together and make everyday #mentalhealthday.

‘Mindfulness’ can sometimes seem like a trendy catch-phrase. It's a term that does get thrown around a bit, but with good reason. Some tips to practice #mindfulness to help get you through the day are: - Rather than being stuck inside your head and overwhelmed by thoughts, move your focus to something external - Focus on something particular in your environment... Do you hear birds? Can you see trees blowing in the wind? Maybe a classic old song on the radio? The sun comes out from the clouds? - When you feel low or are in the middle of one of life's setbacks, practicing mindfulness will help you rediscover the positives in your life and give you the boost you need to push through.
