Updates are now being finally carried out for the Subtitle Database!
Going forward, the Subtitle Database will begin to no longer provide subtitles resynced to a specific source (e.g. subtitles from a DVD release synced to UHD), and will instead provide subtitles with their original source timings, unless if they have been edited further.
This is given that users may watch a film from a variety of releases across the likes of VHS, laserdisc, DVD, blu-ray, etc., and thus would be impossible for me to provide different subtitles synced up to every offering available and easily keep up with what source is in most circulation.
The Subtitle Edit app provides a multitude of uncomplicated ways that subtitles can be resynced, and is therefore up to the user themselves to resync the subtitle to their chosen source.
Blu-ray sourced subtitles are also being rechecked for any shortening of timings. This was a previously unfixable bug where some lines over a certain amount of seconds would be errornously shortened by Subtitle Edit in the OCR process. A work around/fix has been found.

Actually astonishing that probably the most successful Godzilla movie of the VHS era, and the entry point for an incredible amount of fans, has been reduced to fan preservation attempts out of their own efforts or/and finances. Godzilla 1985 infinitely deserves better.

40 years after Godzilla 1985's release, is it finally time for Toho to pay up on the music licensing complications and allow for this beloved cut of The Return of Godzilla to see the light of day?
