I love the "came back wrong" trope but from the opposite side.

Imagine you are dead. And then you are RIPPED from the embrace of decay into the world of the living again. Your memories are hazy and you don't recognize any of these people, but they act like they're close to you? Like they love you? So you try to get your memories back, to act like you belong here, but everybody tries to forget you died. And you can't. It is omnipresent. And just trying to grapple with that fact pushes the people who "love" you away, and they're incapable of understanding, and they're so confused, what's wrong N̶̄̀O̶͛͗T̷̉́ ̷͋͝Y̴̎̌Ȍ̴̈U̸̓R NÄM̴̃͑E̵̾̇? And you just need them to understand, you aren't that person! You aren't! You don't know who that person is! You don't know why any of this is happening, but they're unwilling to bend, they keep insisting you are that person, your memories will come back, everything will be normal again, and you want to scream and cry and claw yourself open to show them you're different. Your existence as a being wholly separate from whoever you "used to be" is a sin unto itself. All you can do is scrabble for life and to them, you're killing whoever they loved to do it.

You know, I miss the gifts in Origins. Not as like, an overpowered way to get approval.

I liked how personal they were, how they told little stories. And occasionally, the receiver will tell you a story about themselves as well! It was very good for fleshing out your party members. Knowing that Sten appreciates paintings or that Zevran prefers unworked bars of precious metals instead of jewelry adds depth to the characters.

And it's much, much different than reading that they like that stuff in some note somewhere. You're giving it to them and you're getting immediate reactions.

Decided to say fuck it to my congestion. Closed myself in the guest bathroom, blocked out all ventilation, turned my massive humidifier on full blast and ran myself the hottest bath i can stand.

This is my enclosure. I live here now. I have recreated the water cycle in a matter of minutes and can finally breathe.

video games are fun but i do think it's fucked how video games went from "hey remember to take a break every once in a while :)" to "if you don't log in every day and play 6 hours you're gonna lose your streak and won't earn the 10 in-game currency you're saving up to buy our overpriced cosmetics" in the span of like. 10 years.
