i once had a dream that my wandering soul found home in your heart, that we were the moon and tide everything was ebb and flow and light and freedom i once had a dream that your embrace was not a cage but rather an open door: liberation through symbiosis like ivy climbing an old oak tree

and the dream was so real that the world could have crashed down all around me and i would have preferred to stay in the warmth of your arms while the sun fell from the sky and all the world burned

but like all dreams one must wake up

and in your deafening silence i heard the truth that i meant little more to you than the rain on the sea and in the dark nothingness i saw the light that lives in me and comes from no one else

and in your absence i felt your true essence the essence of a dream come to and end you are no home. you are only a man.
