How could would it be to have swords for teeth? That's exactly how the Palestine kukri snake got its name! This species has especially large, curved back teeth which look similar to a type of large knife known as a kukri.

Late Pleistocene fauna is severely underepresented outside of the more famous memmbers like the cave lions (kinda a bad name ngl) and mammoths, so I very much love this. Most people probably don't even know that there were hippopotamus and giant tortoises (close relative to the modern Aldabra giant tortoise) species endemic to the island.

Old Mazah region contest submission, Desperena.

Desperena (Desperado + Rena)

My old submission to Subjectively's Mazah region contest, based on the texan blind snake, bandits, vaqueros and phantom thieves. It was meant to be a raider of a nest of ant Pokemon within the region. Looking back, I'd probably give it the Infiltrator instead of Sand Stream as it's more befitting of a thief (Sheer Force works fine). It's stats would also need to be tweeked but I'd like to keep it offensive since the other 2 Ghost/Ground types are rather defensive. Like many irl blind snakes, Desperena is entirely female!

Her Strive design is absolutely adorable, the addition of the hoodie especially looks great. Her new animations and expressions are super lively and expressive too so I just had to draw her! ^v^
