AND JUST LIKE THAT... THE SEX AND THE SIMCITY LEGACY CHALLENGE!

This is a Sims 4 Legacy Challenge inspired by the four main characters of HBO's Sex and the City! Follow four generations full of friendship, drama, love and cosmos. Each gen embodies one of the girls, facing their own unique challenges through their stories!

And I couldn't help but wonder... Do you want to play this challenge?

GENERAL RULES:

Start with a single female sim and the basic funds ($20,000)

You can play in any lifespan that you want.

Each heir must be a female.

Mods are allowed but cheats aren't (except freerealestate on)

You must mantain a close friendship with 3 other girls with each sim.

Packs needed: City Living.

Optional packs: Lovestruck, Spa Day, Discover University & more.

Note: This is the first time I create a Legacy Challenge, and I'm playing as I post this. If there is already another challenge inspired by the series I am not aware, so please let me know! You can feel free to add anything you need to make your own story. If you have suggestions or advice, leave it in the comments :)

GEN 1 - CARRIE BRADSHAW

"I like my money right where I can see it... Hanging in my closet."

You dream of becoming a famous writer, so you leave your small town behind and move to San Myshuno as a young adult. Starting as a freelance writer, you work hard until you land a job as a columnist. Between writing for your column, going out with your best friends, and navigating the chaos of dating, you dream of publishing your own books. But can you survive the city life while chasing love?

Aspiration: Bestselling author. Traits: Materialistic, Romantic, Creative, Clumsy, Self-Absorbed. Career: Freelance writer, then change it to Writer (Journalist branch).

Live in a ran down apartment until you can afford a better one or you can remodel it. But don't live in a penthouse.

Date around and have 3 relationships before you settle down (feel free to make your own Mr. Big)

Spend $1,000 every week in decor/clothes/shoes.

Publish 3 books.

Max Writing, Romance and Charisma skill.

Have 1 or more children. Heir must be a woman.

Go out with your friends once a week (either cocktails, brunch, house party, dancing, you choose!)

Note: If you have Basemental, make her smoke! :)

GEN 2 - MIRANDA HOBBS

"Sexy is the thing I try to get them to see me as after I win them with my personality."

You don't need love to complete you because your ambition is enough. You're all about climbing the corporate ladder. Friendship keeps you grounded, but romance? That can wait. But when you finally have a family, balancing work and home life is a struggle, but you've always liked a challenge.

Aspiration: Academic and Renaissance Sim. Traits: Ambitious, Perfectionist, Hot-Headed, Romantically reserved, Active. Career: Law (Either branch).

Dress in an Office Siren aesthetic.

Live in a minimalistic or well decorated apartment.

Don't marry until you reach level 10 of your career. You have to focus on your success first.

Go to the gym at least once a week and go jogging everyday.

Max Fitness, Logic and Reasearch & Debate.

Have only one child.

Have a cat.

Go out with your friends once a week (either cocktails, brunch, house party, dancing, you choose!)

GEN 3 - CHARLOTTE YORK

"I've been dating ever since I was 15! I'm exhausted! Where is he?"

You are a creative sim who wants the white-picked-fence life. The perfect home. The perfect family. The perfect relationship. But perfection isn't easy. Can you build the ideal life?

Aspiration: Big Happy Family. Traits: Family-Oriented, Romantic, Perfectionist, Lovebug, Art Lover. Career: Art Critic and Stay-at-home parent.

Live in a perfect and pristine apartment.

Have a dog.

Max Painting, Parenting and Cooking skills.

Marry and get divorced. Then re-marry another sim.

Have at least 2 kids. Raise them to have good manners.

Quit your job after you get pregnant. It's up to you if you go back after they grow up.

Go out with your friends once a week (either cocktails, brunch, house party, dancing, you choose!)

GEN 4 - SAMANTHA JONES

"I love you, but I love me more."

You're bold, confident and unapologetically yourself. Relationships? Not your style. You live for passion, luxury and excitement. You thrive in the spotlight. Romance is fun, but no one will love you as much as you love yourself. Make sure the world knows your name!

Aspiration: Serial Romantic. Traits: Self-Assured, Non-Committal, Outgoing, High Maintenance, Loyal. Career: Social Media (Public Relations branch).

Live in a luxurious penthouse.

Never marry! If a sim proposes you must always decline.

Must have at least 5 lovers. You can do it at the same time to spark some drama ;)

Max Charisma, Wellness and Romance skills.

Go on expensive vacations to Sulani, Tartosa or Mt. Komorebi at least once.

Have a dog.

Go out with your friends once a week (either cocktails, brunch, house party, dancing, you choose!)

Base Game Addon (Pt. 1)

Hello! I'm back with another addon. This one is little different from my previous ones since it's a Base Game addon, meaning you don't need to own any packs to use it!

This addon focuses on completing the dining table and sofa collections, increasing the versatility of various wall decorations and adding more flexible shower options. I may make more Base Game addons in the future!

Including various separated artworks, there's just over 100 items included in this addon, making it my largest addon ever!

Unlike previous addons, this one is completely Base Game Compatible. You can easily find the items in buy mode by searching for "Base Game Addon" using the in-game search function.

Merged package and separated zip versions are available. Be sure to download only one option.

Install

To install, place the .package files into your Mods folder found, by default, in My Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods. Alternatively, you can place the individual .package files from the separated ZIP into it’s own folder within the Mods folder to keep things tidy.

MOD «TALKS BY AGE» | Children

Add 14 new social interactions to the game to make kids’ lives more dynamic and engaging. Children can now talk about funny or deeply important (at least to them) topics — from arguing over nothing and inventing a secret language to telling scary legends or discussing the monster under the bed. They can also ask to get a pet or build a treehouse. These two specific interactions trigger not only a moodlet but also a custom notification that reflects the adult’s reaction — whether they agree or skillfully dodge the topic.

Currently on Generation 45 of my legacy... technically generation 12 of the Iyer Legacy... it's been a while, Tumblr. I play when I can and I love this game! I just haven't been posting. The Iyer legacy lives on for anyone who cares :) Some Suzanna spam.

IYER LEGACY UPDATE:

This family has a different name now and is technically on generation 12 of the Iyer legacy as Aurora married Suzanna's great-grandmother, Priya the generation 41 heir of the legacy I started when i thought I lost the Iyers years ago. I recovered them from a broken computer using a seperate harddrive and monitor, exported the family and moved them into this family's save file. Teddy and the rest of the family lived out their lives in a seperate home and I married Aurora into the family to combine the saves. Now, it's been a bit. Suzanna is the heir to both and my current save, she's married to Taku Akiyama from the Snowy Escape pack. At generation 26 of the (what I call) "Random Legacy" I started the "Alphabet Legacy" so Suzanna is "Gen S" and her kids are "Gen T". She rolled to have 3 pregnancies, had a set of twins at the end and her littlest nooboo, Twyla, will be the next heir. I just let last names change with marriages and constantly randomizing everything about who my sims are and what they do sans hair/clothes/makeup/etc. The last photo in this set is Suzanna walking by the digital photo thingy from the Moschino pack which is my favorite thing in this game for legacies. I have photos (photoshoots every generation) of every heir from the Random legacy, sadly not from the Iyer's until Aurora. Aurora married Priya and in that digital photo frame is Aurora and her wife, Priya. Suzanna's great-grandma's. The legacy lives on. It's fun, I love this family, it's been fun playing without posting, I miss this community a lot. I miss updating the family tree, maybe one day again I will but for now, here's Suzanna's life so far. :) <3

RIP, CmarNYC

I’m very sad to report that Sims 3 and 4 creator CmarNYC passed away in October 2023. For 15 years, Simmers benefited from Cmar’s long-honed computing skills as she created much-loved modders’ and players’ tools, including the Sims 3 and 4 MorphMakers and Skininators, the TS4 SimRipper, the Sims 3 XCAS core mod, and many CAS sliders. She was also a contributor to S4PE, which likely was used by creators you rely on. Without Cmar’s work, the Sims franchise would have had a much less rich array of mods and custom content. She will be greatly missed.

As well as Sims, Cmar loved cats, and donations are suggested to the ASPCA, the TinyKittens Society, or an animal-related charity near you.

Oh... where to start... the Iyer Family was recovered, and I have been playing the game for a couple of months since... so many photos and stories have been had since the legacy was resurfaced--and then combined with the legacy I have been playing for years... lucky I was able to recover the Iyer's as a whole.

At this point in my game, I am over a generation ahead of where I last left this family. I may post more, I definitely don't want their little sim lives to be forgotten and this blog holds their ancestors histories still!

Maybe I'll start posting again from my archives :)

Tidy CAS - CAS category organizers

There has been this amazing cc by @sparrowcc which basically adds a bit of sorting to messy categories like Tattoos, skin details and earrings + piercings.

Since the original creator hasn’t been active in a long time and the cc needs an update to support body scars I decided to make my own version of it.

💜 How does it work?

This CC creates basically an empty CAS item with the whole purpose to mark when a new category starts. This can be useful if you have a lot of skin details for example and don’t know which ones work together as EA has not seperated the parts (e.g. forehead crease, freckles) into separate categories. This CC is not meant to be applied to a Sim and has no texture or model.
