Pic 1: I use Gundam Real Touch markers to do light weathering on small pieces. I used the dark brown here to make the letters pop and on the T I covered the piece and wiped away excess with a finger to make it more brassy.

Pic 2-3: New rings. I was bored as fuck and thought why not.

Pic 4-5: Old rings. World of difference.

Pic 6-7: Comparing the thumb rings. New on right, old on left. Basically what changed was using more than one dremel head and knowing wtf im doing.

Pic 8-9: Started painting the shoulder once I remembered that the paints are paint + primer

Pic 10: Painted the hook. Gotta weather it.

Gettin there. Finished up a few minor pieces today and wore some to see how they feel. ALMOST THERE

This is current status of everything. Next pay I’m spending like $350 or so on my final supplies. It kind of looks like a lot but a lot of things that aren’t started are buy and maybe mod a little or not at all. The only one I’m ????? is clearly the gun lmao idk on that bro

Made a bunch of progress since it’s about 33 days until the con as of Aug 18th. 

Shoulder tire is mostly done and detailed

Added the spikes by covering foam spikes in worbla and fully did H O G

Have about 70% of chain holder done (not pictured are the two side bits that hold them in place)

Pig on the back is done and painted

Tested some belt loops for the vest

Also have to redo the handle for the hook as it got fucked up when I painted it and masked (ripped a bunch of paint and plastidip off and left residue :( )

Super happy about the hook tho since with the spikes it fits perfectly around my huge neck so normal people it’d be great.

And in other news the con I’m going to is Halcon so if you’re there and see a huge Roadhog there is probably a 100% chance that it is me.

90% of roadhogs elbow is done. just have the top needle bits left to do. 

even though i have 2 months until the con i’m kinda feeling the crunch. i have to finish this, the shoulder pad (which is mostly done), the vest, the things on his back and the chain carrier. oh and i have to do the gun. which I might be able to get 3D printed? Idk, talking with a guy on that.

Speaking of 3D printing I forgot that I designed his hogdrogen container in Fusion360, I’m having that printed by a guy at the end of this month. Hoping with what I’ve designed that it can hold some liquid.

getting the main shape of the hook down with the beveled edges. one side is finished, gotta do other side, ordered some worbla to cover it completely tho

Progress progress progress. The wrist band went horrible, painters tape ripped off the plastidip so I have to redo the entire thing. Nbd as i’m doing it a better way anyways.

Boots are done, hogdrogen canister is ??????? i’m kind of making it up as i go along. 

really love how the kneepad came out. love it

Stuff I did yesterday/today.

Yesterday I picked up some plastidip and krylon gold and tried the rings, looks great in person. 

Then today did the boots, lil piggy on his back and the skull kneepad. Freehanded the skull and dam it looks great. Circle around the pad looks like it’s supposed to be raised up but it’s not really, I checked in game so I just cut extra wide and scored to open a line when I sealed it..

so im doing some coating with plastidip and is it really worth it to do more than 1 full coat? coverage is good, nice and smooth. seems to be excessive and a waste to do more than one but every video i see they recommend doing 3-4

updates on stuff, haven’t been as busy as i’d like but got these pieces done + half of the left wrist band. glued the support in for the hook to makes it more sturdys

some progress on my roadhog cosplay, got more of the hook handle done and bought some plastic pipe for inner strength on the hook part. also got the rings mostly done, only have the thumb to do
