Their Freefall At Last
By Julie Olivia
Finished: 7.23.2023
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“Honeywood Fun Park will always be our home.”
Oh my god :,)
This series has me in shambles. The snippets of Ruby and Bennett throughout the rest of the series really made excited for this one, and it did not disappoint. Their story is beautifully crafted starting from the very beginning of their friendship when they were seven. We watch these two go through all of the ups and downs of growing up, and they face everything together. It’s probably the most endearing and sweet coming of age stories that I have ever read. They always had each other as their anchors. UGH they’re so perfect. I have no words to describe how beautifully put their story is. Please just go read it and this whole series for yourself.
It was also a nice treat to see all of the stories we heard bits and pieces about in the other books. We get to read about Bennett streaking across the football field, Lorelei’s accident, and the pirate festival. That’s not even scratching the surface of little treats that are in this book if you read the others. I know the series can technically be a standalone, but your definitely get the best experience if you read them in publication order.
THE EPILOGUE!!! I cried like a baby through the entire thing. Seeing all the couples living their lives with their kids. It was such a heartwarming way to end the series.
Julie Olivia I cannot thank you enough for giving us this wonderful world of Honeywood. I’ve just been getting back into reading, and I couldn’t have asked for a better series to really kick start my love of reading again. This series is going to be one that I come back anytime I need a warm hug. I’d be lying if I said I won’t miss the Honeywood crew, but I’m super pumped for the next series you put out.

Our Ride to Forever
By Julie Olivia
Finished: 7.19.2023
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Julie Olivia you’re insane
Going into this book, I’m going to be honest, Theo and Orson were the couple that interested me the least. By the end? I think they’re close to being my favorite ( I’m so sorry Lorelei and Emory). The chemistry that Julie was able to give them is crazy. I don’t think I’ve read a book where the main couple meshes so we’ll together. You can tell they both care so deeply for one another even if they don’t want to admit it to themselves.
I see a lot of myself in Theo and her experience with living up to the high expectations that she puts on herself due to her family. Also I heavily relate to Orson’s tendency to give too much of himself away. Julie Olivia is so great at making characters that feel real. I think that’s what is so charming about this series.
PHEWWW the spice in this one is immaculate. Definitely the book with the most in this series so far.
I’m also learning through this series is that I’m a big fat sucker for the “he falls first trope”, so thanks for that lol.
God I don’t want this series to be over :(( I’ve only got the last one to go. But oh my god Ruby and Bennett’s story is about to go crazy I think. So still excited even if I’m sad about the end.

The Fiction Between Us
By Julie Olivia
Finished: 7.16.2023
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I blew through this book like a woman possessed.
Once again, Julie Olivia gives us a lovely romance set in the charming Honeywood Fun Park. I’m a sucker for fake dating, so I knew I was going to love this one.
Landon, the embodiment of a golden retriever, and Quinn, an actual black cat, creates such a nice dynamic. This one is a SLOW burn fr. I think I read it so fast because I couldn’t wait to see how they get together.
Once again, I’m pumped to read the next book!

All Downhill With You
By Julie Olivia
Finished: 7.15.2023
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Whoever’s video I saw recommending this series, I wanna give them a big fat kiss on the mouth.
I went to Dollywood all the time as a kid, and this book brings back all the pure fun and magic of theme parks.
The characters are all lovable and interesting. (Which is great bc the rest of the series revolves around them.) This is a super strong start in this series. At first I thought I wouldn’t like the two switching POVs, but Julie Olivia made it work nicely. It was nice getting the perspectives of both the love interests. Emory’s chapters either made me swoon or giggle, and Lorelei is a lovely MC that you fall in love with right away.
Slight spoilers I guess?
One point in the book, Lorelei is grumbling about how much an ass Emory is, and then it immediately to Emory’s pov thinking about how beautiful her smile is. I was kicking my feet twirling my hair.
Oh and the spicy scenes???? Julie you had my blushing like a Victorian school girl. That’s all I’ll say because PHEW.
Anyways, if you want a nice romantic enemies to lovers story set in a super charming theme park, then boy is this the book for you.
Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!!

The Dead Romantics
By Ashley Poston
Finished: 7.12.2023
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Holy shit dude. This book.
I’ve just been rocked to my core by what I thought was going to be a silly little paranormal romance.
The romance is fantastic, but I think that’s not exactly where this book shines. Poston’s writing about grief and healing is absolutely stunning. It hits especially hard since I had a death in the family very recently, and it actually gave me some peace about it. I haven’t had a book effect me like this in a long time. I don’t even know how to put it into words the writing is so breathtaking. Please read this book for yourself. Be prepared to cry.
Side note! Super accurate description of a small southern town! I’ve never seen someone describe it so well. I imagined my hometown the whole time lol

Iron Widow
By Xiran Jay Zhao
Finished: 7.8.2023
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Are you tired of being nice?
Don’t you want to go ape shit?
Wu Zetian definitely took this to heart. God it’s such a nice change of pace to have a MC that’s not supposed to be a good person. She has been beaten down her whole life, but instead of being a better person, she makes sure to become WORSE. It makes this such an interesting story. I saw someone say that her behavior is just like the men she hates, and that bothers them. THATS THE POINT. She’s out for revenge, not to take the moral high ground. The boyfriends matching that energy ??? Delectable.
Anyways give this book a try if you like your MC unhinged and if you think everyone in love triangles should just kiss each other.
Xiran Jay Zhao, you’re kick ass and I can’t wait until Heavenly Tyrant in 2024.

A Prophecy of Undone
By I.A. Takerian
Finished: 6.20.2023
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
AHHHH. I.A. TAKERIAN YOU’VE DONE IT AGAIN. This is truly a delightful read. The first book really sets up this book to be a slam dunk. The bonds between our main cast are so beautifully written. God I love them so much. They all really comes to life during this book. You really feel their connection and care for one another. I’d be so fun to eat dinner in the Grand Hall with them. They feel like our buddies too.
Chapter 36??? I teared up so bad. it’s so tragic and beautiful ugh. GOD this series is amazing. I literally cannot recommend it enough. Can’t wait for the next entry.

Rise of the Dawnbringer
By I.A. Takerian
Finished: 6.5.2023
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
God I haven’t gotten into a book like this in forever. I’m such a sucker for fantasy ESPECIALLY one with a found family aspect. Mara’s an amazing MC with realistic emotions and actions. You really care about and root for her. The rest of the war party feel like they could be strong MCs if there was ever a stand-alone storyline. Also the magic system is so interesting in this world. I’m super excited to explore it more.
I’m shocked more people aren’t talking about this one. I’m diving into the second book immediately.

I got a kindle last month and it change my life tbh.
I went from not finishing a book in seven years to reading like I used to in middle school.
I’m going to use this blog as a reading journal. I’ll post my thoughts on each book I read. I’m not a English major or anything, so it won’t be an in-depth analysis. I’m just a goober getting back into reading.
If you got this far, I love u <3
