I am seeing a lot of people after chapter 4 of deltarune learning about the fact that Gerson in original undertale actually was more than just random shopkeeper and had some lore that you can easily miss if you don't care about talking with him, or don't call Undyne near his shop. Hell, some people didn't even knew he was one who trained Undyne. And here i am as someone who knew all this lore from Gerson in original undertale, and was interested at how he was at his prime, how did he trained Undyne, what even his fighting style was. And I am so happy that old guy finally has more involvement in story aside from optional dialogues

I know some people were disappointed that we didn't got much Undyne and Toriel in new chapters, but honestly I just love direction that Toby took with Gerson's character that i cant even be mad

What the fuck was going on between Eito and Moko in coming of age route

I know Eito was faking it, but i find it funny that he was fixated on Moko specifically

Does anyone else has hard time ranking JoJo parts or just me?

Well obviously diamond is unbreakable and golden wind are my favourites, and then steel ball run third favourite. Then next is stardust crusaders, and after this i don't really know how to rank parts, because they are about same level kinda??? I just dont think about Battle tendency, Jojolion and Stone ocean that much so they are kinda same spot for me even if i think they are not all the same quiality. Don't get me wrong, i like these parts a lot too, it's just when i think about jojo i tend to associate it more with Okuyasu enjoying Tonio's food, Torture dance or Gyro's puns that i dont understand to this day. Other parts i just tend to remember whenever i am having discussion with someone about that. Phantom blood is obviously least favourite, but because it is just part i think about the least

I always find it funny that Yugamu was sort of an outcast in second academy group, or we probably just didn't saw him interract with anyone on screen

I mean girls in second defense academy were shown to have strong relationship with each other. Kyoshika is close with Kurara, and also seems to have positive relationship with Nozomi. Kurara aside from Kyoshika, also is very overprotective of Nozomi. And Nozomi has close friendship with Moko. As you can see girls from second academy have some sort of friendship dynamic with each other

Yugamu though? He doesn't really seems to interract much with girls of second academy. He kinda seemed to had sort of dynamic early on with Kurara and Kyoshika, but it kinda disappeared????? I swear he was constantly together with Kyoshika and Kurara like some sort of trio in early days of route 0 then it just kinda became Kyoshika and Kurara dynamic duo and Yugamu locked himself in his lab. And in second scenario he doesn't gets chance to interact with both cause well yknow. And Kyoshika and Kurara seem to be both deaths that affected him greatly in Killing game route, so it made me wonder, if Yugamu had offscreen friendship with Kyoshika and Kurara we haven't seen??? Could be just me overthinking, because i really wanna learn more about second defense academy dynamics

Defending Killing Game route Takemaru

I seen a lot of people complain about Killing game route Takemaru, and i personally dont get it, because i thought it was Takemaru at his best. No joking.

I will start by saying I get why people can feel frustrated about Takemaru in killing game route. I mean he is closest thing we get to antagonist of the route aside from Sponsor. He is only one in route who never really ends up taking Takumi's side in the end.

But one thing people tend to ignore is Takemaru's point of view. Yes, it is easier to view from Takumi's pov and dislike Takemaru for his actions. But why don't we look things from Takemaru's perspective? First, Takumi murders Eito, a person who he claims was evil from different timeline, but has no evidence to back up. Second his choices end up with two of their friends dead. First, staying in school which results in Gaku's death. Second is joining invader hunt which ends up with not only Kurara dying, but with everyone being forced to participate in invader hunt, just because of Takumi's decision. Of course Takemaru didn't ended up hating Takumi from get go. Well he did at first, but Takumi saving Takemaru in middle of battle made Takemaru a bit conflicted about his feelings. So at first Takemaru actually starts with one of few people backing up Takumi. Then Takumi ends up stopping killing game supposedly. It got Takemaru a full respect for Takumi, and even feel guilty for his actions. Except that Sponsor had back ups, and killing game continued. That was start of Takemaru's antagonism. Except was Takemaru actually antagonistic to Takumi throughout whole route? I replayed some scenes and noticed Takemaru was only outright antagonistic specificaly to Takumi in that scene. And honestly i got impression, he didn't genuinely meant it. Even Takumi points out that everyone needed to take out their frustrations at someone, and Takumi was easy target for that. We already know Takemaru has anger issues, so him being frustrated with Takumi is understandable from his perspective. I mean imagine you have your hopes up because someone managed to put end to killing game, only for Killing game to continue anyway. And that same guy who "put" stop to Killing game had made questionable decisions that made things just worse. Of course it wasn't Takumi's fault for why things turned out like this, Takemaru knew that, Kyoshika knew that too. But they felt immerse hatred and despair over losing someone they were really close to (Shouma was gonna die next day, so Takemaru being frustrated with Killing game continuing and Takumi letting his hopes up also makes sense if you take this into consideration)

Aside from Takemaru's issues with Takumi, other issues people had are Takemaru's actions. He made several underhanded tactics to ensure his team's position will be high no matter what. Such as attempting to kill Eva to steal kill (even threatening to murder Nozomi, just to get his points, despite his rule of not harming women), and stealing commander kill while Takumi was searching for Nozomi. But these actions also have explanations. Takemaru was desperate. He really needed Ima and Kako survive. He understood that his methods were dirty, he even says it himself when he threatened to murder Nozomi. But he really needs Kako and Ima alive. And it fits well with theme of killing game route, that to achieve something you had to make sacrefices. You had to dirty your hands, but use these stained hands to save people you love. Takemaru wasn't only one who did that. Takumi had to sacrefice Eva and some futuran civillains to ensure Nozomi's and Tsubasa's survival respectively. Yugamu had to use Kyoshika as scrapegoat to kill Sponsor. Takemaru's actions were bad. But he had good intention all along. And he managed to achieve that. Twins survived, while Takemaru was executed. Ultimately Takemaru's goal was never his own survival, he didn't wanted children to be robbed of their future.

Takemaru's farwell letter proves to Takumi, that despite all he did. It was same Takemaru from previous timeline. He may felt like not same Takemaru we knew before, but it wasn't really this. It was still same old good Takemaru with heart of gold that we knew and loved. We just saw different side of Takemaru. We saw different side of Kysohika. We saw different side of Yugamu. We saw Eva properly this time. They may acted differently in other routes, but it is same people at core, just different circumstances can shape different resolves.

Overall, I hope this essay will make people appreciate Takemaru more as character, because i felt like people didn't really paid much attention to killing game Takemaru or even bothered to understand him

What if Hundred Line Last Defense Academy cast were part of Danganronpa 2 Goodbye Despair killing game?

(SPOILERS: mostly for second scenario route. If you didn't played rest of routes, it's fine, it doesn't spoils much.)

Sponsor (guy in suit from killing game route) takes place of Monokuma

Eva probably takes place of Monomi, but i am not sure

Chapter 1

Motive: reveal of fake memories

Kinda similar to what happened in goodbye despair chapter 1

Eito wants to turn everyone against each other

He confronts Shouma and tells him that outside world is probably already dead. He puts several evidences to his claims and Shouma gets convinced. Eito offers a murder plan, in which Eito will die and Shouma will escape. Shouma is hesitant, but he thinks that this could be great chance for someone like him being useful

Eito of course wasn't planning to kill himself, his whole plan was to backstab Shouma in last minute, but Hiruko interefers and ends up being victim to Shouma’s trap (she has same role as route 0, where she monitors everyone closely. She gets suspicious of Eito’s behaviour, but that ends up with her being victim)

Chapter 2

Poker game motive

New casino is open on Island. Sponsor offers everyone to play poker “to find some entertainment on the island”. As award person receives a personal video tape. Yugamu beats it and says tape is nothing interesting and no one should bother. Days latter Takumi finds Takemaru trying to beat a card game, but constantly losing. Apparently he is this curious about award, since “that asshole Yugamu wont say a thing”. Several days latter, they find Takemaru’s corpse. Apparently the tape was about some of lost memories. Takemaru in the end did managed to win the tape, but was shocked by its contents. The tape that Takemaru received was about his close friend being killed by someone, and someone covering up the culprit of the case. That someone was Kako. Takemaru was in rage, and wanted to ask Kako about whole thing, but she has no idea what he is talking about. Ima overhears conversation and assumes Takemaru is gonna harm Kako and steps in. Same sheningans happen as 2-2. At the end Ima is executed and Kako is in complete despair. Takumi asks why Yugamu never told anyone about tape and he said that what he saw completely horrified even someone as him and he knew if he said what was really on tape, it would drive anyone to murder. He still doesn't shares what exactly was on his tape. Kako develops a petty grudge against Yugamu, because if he outright warned about what was on tapes, Ima and Takemaru would be alive

Chapter 3

Everyone except Nozomi gets affected with some disease

Takumi: he sees everyone as Eitos

Eito: acts as his coming of age self

Gaku: becomes attracted to guys

Kyoshika: acts like anime villain

Darumi: honest disease, which makes her act sincere

Kurara: becomes completely passive and obedient to every order

Yugamu: Guilt increases, he feels bad for every action he did. Not as affected by disease as rest, and manages to cure himself very early in chapter

Moko: depressed, constantly cries

Kako: acts like Ima

Tsubasa: Pretends that her disease is acting as completely arrogant. In reality her disease was memory disease which made her remember the life before killing game

Takumi throughout whole chapter gets completely messed up and has urges to murder someone. Thats why daily life shifts to Nozomi's pov. One day he wakes up and sees everyone normally. They find Kurara’s corpse. The real killer was Tsubasa, who went completely insane from revelation. She thinks everyone deserves to die, for what they did, so her whole plan was to escape successfully and have everyone executed. She went for Kurara, because she was easy target

Chapter 4

Funhouse

During investigation of chapter 3 Kyoshika tried to kill Sponsor after finding out that Kurara is dead, but Moko steps in and gets blown up. We get mecha moko. Who dies in next chapter immediately rip. Darumi was killer. Darumi says her reason for murder was because she was tired of whole killing game shtick, and just wanted whole boring thing to end, so she finally commited murder. She also found motive very uncreative. “What is fun in killing game that forces participants to kill? It is supposed to DRIVE not MAKE them kill! There is no fun in game like this”. In reality Takumi suspects her actual motive is to free everyone from funhouse, but Darumi keeps insisting that she did it for herself

Chapter 5

Pretty much indentical to 2-5, Eito finds out whole truth, makes trap that kills himself, and makes Nozomi a culprit yadayada

I know it was very short, but honestly you get idea how it goes. Also yea whole traitor subplot is present here too

The truth (chapter 6)

About whole setting and how did killing game even happened

It takes place in AU where Dahlixia and Veuxness swapped roles. Dahlixia is in charge and Veuxness is imprisoned. Dahlixia goes first into academy instead of sending Muvrum like Veuxness did (for obvious reasons) and predictably anihilitaes everyone

But Dahlixia during fight realizes that its just mindless kids being forced to fight for something they have no idea about. So taking in pity he takes them imprisoned (he allows nozomi to roam free, since she wasnt even supposed to be part of whole thing). Afer awhile Dahlixia considers executing everyone, as his form of showing mercy, but Nozomi argues that there is way to make everyone side with futurans without killing them. They take reconstructive device from academy, and use it on SDU so they could give them happier memories and make them forget whole invasion thing (also convince everyone that they are futurans). However Veuxness disgusted by idea of some lowlife invaders getting second chance so she takes opportunity to insert Sponsor AI inside simulation to force students to kill each other, and remaining survivors students to give up on living after finding out the truth

Yes it means we get a giant Veuxness and super sayian Takumi. Probably

Survivors

Takumi, Kyoshika, Gaku, Yugamu, Kako

Kyoshika, Gaku, and Kako go through character development after their closest people (Kurara, Tsubasa and Ima) die. Yugamu gets subtle character development, trying to atone for indirectly causing deaths of Takemaru and Ima, and gets small conflict with Kako.

I hope I didn't ended up making it too similar to danganronpa 2, my intention was just speculating how Hundred line last defense academy cast would deal with Jabberwock Island killing game. I tried to make some parallels, but not too similar

Of course whole post is not accurate, because lets be honest if Hundred line cast were in danganronpa game, Kyoshika and Darumi would get chapter 3 victims treatment/j
