Ted had long since made his peace with the lines in the sand - the purebloods, irrevocably convinced of their own superiority, on one side, and he, his friends, his loved ones, his wife and child, merely trying to survive, on the other. To say there wasn't any resentment left would be a lie - but even today, faced with Alecto Carrow, a woman who's resentment bordered on the level of ire Ted expected only from Andromeda's family, he couldn't muster the full strength of it.

His brows knitted together for a moment before he smiled only a little, nodding. "Indeed she would, miss Carrow. But I don't think she should have to." He rocked a little on his feet. "And Dora can wait a little longer."

Alecto was gathering a few items to take back home, now that she was recovered from the incident, yet it felt weird not being at the Lestrange Manor, tucked away in Rabastan's wing. A part of her missed it. Thoughts drifted back on the last few days they spent together, a smile almost twisting on her lips, until she was pulled back from a voice, fingers clenching around the bottle of ink.

She turned to come face to face with a man who took one of her closest friends from her. "I'm sure Andromeda will know how to clean up the mess." A bitterness to her tone.

It had been years since Ted had allowed himself to think on the lives they - he and Andromeda - had, at the time, unwittingly used to keep their secret safe, to keep themselves safe. Even though he knew it wasn't right, even though he agonized over it despite the knowledge that they would sooner see his blood on their hands than get to know him, he could not bring himself to regret it.

Not even now, standing on the cobblestone of Hogsmeade's main courtyard, beside someone who would be more than entitled to the belief that he had ruined their life. His fingers twitched, spasming around thin air for a brief second - the only sign of discomfort he allowed himself in the moment.

"Hmm. Scourgify was never one of my better spells." His words and voice are dry, even and crisp as he ignores the thinly veiled swipe. "Nor is it one of yours, I would imagine." He resists the urge to arch his brow or think on his cooling tone, instead shaking his head and exhaling. "I think she'll have to wait. It wouldn't do for her to be injured by glass from an enchanted ink pot."

It had not been long since Rabastan's conversation with Andromeda. She had sworn secrecy, with the condition that he would do his best to ensure her family's safety. It was an agreement that he was willing to make, regardless of the distaste it left in his mouth. Despite his bitterness towards Andromeda, he did not want her to be endangered. If she had reported him to the Ministry, she would have been harmed, by any of his fellow Death Eaters or by his own family.

So he did not especially wish to find himself face-to-face with her muggleborn husband. But here he was, looking through the same window, beside the man who had stolen the finest Black daughter.

"Spilled ink can be cleared," he replied, with the appearance of politeness. "If one possesses the magical skill to do so." He hadn't promised to be nice.

Ted's brow creased the longer he stared through the window of the shop. Quills and parchment glared back at him through the slightly tinted glass, quill care kits stacked in a careful pyramid just beyond the entryway. He contemplated to himself before launching into conversation with the nearest person. "How young is too young to get a proper quill care set with all the trimmings, do you think? Or do you think it's just asking for trouble, giving a clumsy six year old near unlimited access to ink?"

Saroo’s character is incredibly torn, because he’s got this wonderfully loving family in Australia that he is completely thankful for and is at home with. But he’s also riddled with guilt that he’s living this privileged life when his family in India could be out there on a truck still searching for him. At its core, it’s a story about the love between a mother and son, and how that can transcend continents. I’m a real mommy’s boy, so I wanted to make it not only for myself, but for my mom. And I think it’s rare to find a film that will bring a lot of joy to the world, like this one will. The script was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever read.
