they were performing ready or not. as jinki was dancing his way back to the center of the main stage, he suddenly fell to the floor. i thought he simply tripped or it was just one of his usual gags. but he was still crouching, even when kibum, who went to that side of the stage, pat him on his back. he then lifted his head, and I thought all was fine. but he still didn’t get up.

when he did, he turned to the back and limped his way back to the side of the stage, outside the audience’s view. kibum kept looking in his direction and since the song was still playing, he seemed undecided whether to follow jinki or not. I could see how worried he was.

the four continued to sing, and from my position, I could see that jinki was still at the side of the stage being tended to. minho, who was on the other side and was walking his way back to the main stage, noticed what was happening and he looked worried too.

the last part of the song involved them going up on individual platforms. one was empty.

then savior came on. there was still no jinki in sight. most people around me were crying, like i was. the four continued to perform, albeit looking anxious the whole time, trying to keep going on.

Everybody. JINKI CAME BACK TO PERFORM FUCKING EVERYBODY! His right foot was bandaged. HE CAME BACK TO THE THUNDERING SCREAMS OF EVERYONE. They probably felt the same way i did. Relief, and the strongest desire to cheer the boys on. But Jinki was still limping and he really tried not to put any pressure on his injured foot. He would subtly drag that foot or just hop with the other. During that part where he and Minho faced each other, Minho gave him a thumbs up and mouthed “괜찮아?” JINKI STILL PERFORMED DURING FUCKING EVERYBODY.

When the song ended, everyone chanted his name non-stop. Lee Jinki! Lee Jinki! Lee Jinki!

I forgot whether it was Jonghyun or Minho who helped him down the stairs after the song.

When all five came out for encore, Jinki was still limping and he really looked like he was in pain, but was trying so hard to hide it. Taemin was looking after him. They were supposed to do a short dance break, but jinki couldn’t move. So Jonghyun asked the rest to move closer to jinki and then they still danced to it a bit, with jinki just trying to smile and move with his arms.

They didn’t do Lucky Star anymore. For Romeo and Juliette, Taemin exchanged positions with Jinki so that Jinki wouldn’t have to move anymore.

Minho called the dancers to the stage. The dancers on Jinki’s side approached him, high-fived or pat his back/shoulder.

When it was his turn to talk, Jinki was close to tears. The whole time that he was talking, apologizing for not being able to show what they prepared, he closed his eyes. He was trying to hold himself back from crying.

While the rest of the boys were talking, Jinki was looking at the crowd. Smiling a bit sometimes, holding his right thigh, wincing a bit when he had to move it. Taemin was beside him, talking to him, cheering him up because they both ended up laughing whenever Taemin said something to him. He was really attentive towards his hyung.

When the others were talking, Jinki just kept on biting his lips, exhaling deeply like what he usually does when he’s almost crying. In the end, before the thumbs up tradition, Jinki apologized once more.

They said their goodbyes. Jonghyun helped him as they were going backstage, his left arm on Jinki’s back. Jonghyun didn’t let go, even after the staff who were waiting at the side, held on to Jinki.
